I'm using the Jegs 700R4 Crossmember, had to modify the location for the T56.

I got the LQ9 sitting in there, but will have to do some more work with these trans dapt swap mounts.
With all the grief everyone seems to be having, I think I am going to try to fabricate my own crossmember.

I've been making progress on putting an LY6 into my 79 Malibu. I am running it in front of my Coan turbo 400 and will be putting on my ds1 Procharger. Since my motor is mounted, using Moroso solid motor mounts and a Hooker ls stock location mount plate I'm ready to install some headers. I was hopping I could get a little direction of the choices availible. I have heard that the pacesetter 1999-2002 camaro headers fit with a little dent. If this is so a pictures would be good. Thanks for your suggestions and help.

The Pacesetters are going to require some beating if you choose the BRP mounts. But I think for the adapter plates for SBC clamshells they should fit pretty nicely.

Iceman Racing has some really nice crossmembers. The TH350 one I had before worked perfectly, and I found out with the mounts I have, his 4L60E crossmember works really nicely too. Shame you have to piece this whole swap together instead of buying a kit. It's hard enough trying to pick out your accessories, cam, heads, intake, trans etc. plus all of the wiring.

Got the jegs crossmember also had to cut the ends off where they bolt to the frame and modify them to fit my elcamino. The jegs unit is inexpensive and well made

Default Good news!

Good news if you are doing a G body swap and can not/ do not want to go with the high dollar motor mount combos. I got the Trans Dapt LS1 kit for Chevy S10s [PN#4516] for $69 it comes with everything you'll need! Mocked it up this afternoon and bolted in the stands a few minutes ago. I plan on bolting the motor in tomorrow!

I reused the Moroso solid frame and engine mounts that I had used on my first generation small block and I added the Hooker LS plates that put the motor in the stock location so my tranny would not move. And yes this far has been installed.

I built my own..used a '99-'02 LS1 Harness for the Engine, adapted that to a 1998 Camaro Fuse Box, and integrated that Fuse Box into the Chassis Wiring of the Car. I also went through the stock Dash Harness and eliminated the extra junk.
It all works like stock.

I used transdapt 4575 plates that puts the motor 1inch further back. In the stock location with the stock clamshell mounts it dropped in perfect.

I have a 5.3 with the truck accessories. First off I'd like to say that the Ford Econoline power steering pulley clears the MCSS steering box in my car with motor mount adapter plates that do not set the engine back. The factory belt seems to be tight enough too so no need to get a slightly shorter belt.

My question is about the power steering lines. Should I use factory MCSS pressure and return, factory truck lines, or some combo of both? I know some people are running truck accessories so this has to be an easy question to answer.

TIA

Would anyone be willing to tell me the dimensions for a stock G-body gas tank?
