Default Supercharger reservoir for gbody pics?

Hi guys: I have most of the parts needed for adding the lsa to my LQ4. Ill probably be in the 600hp range, and visit the track a couple times a year. Im debating on intercooler reservoirs. What are you guys using? Br Jerry.

My plans are to start with a factory unit and upgrade from there if needed, my car will be more of a street/cruiser and i doubt i will ever hit the track more than once to see what it will do. Seems like Afco is a go to unit for the camaro guys, guess you just go with the biggest one you can squeeze in there.

Unless they changed it, I recall that setup not having enough wrap on the blower pulley.

They have two different drive one is only intended to be used with stock pulleys, which I think is enough wrap for that.
the other is a "race drive" which seems to have plenty of wrap.
I can't say whether or not they changed the drive as this is the only one have seen from them.
I don't like the other drive that share a belt with all the accessories. For my power goals I think the race drive will be up to the task.

Default 1981 elcamino 5.3 swap help

Decided to take the stock 5.0 and TH350 out the 1981 elcamino i picked up a 5.3l engine and tranny from a 2003 tahoe i have some questions reguarding the swap i have a run down on parts list i ordered the engine harness from swap specialities and performance, ordered the sliding engine mounts from dirty dingo, ordered the corvette fuel pressure regualtor filter combo, ordered the 1986 elcamino tbi fuel sending unit and a fuel pump from summit racing, i have an aluminum radiatior , my questions are i have an aluminum radiatior thats made equipped for the car itself but not made for the 5.3 ls is that going to be an issue when installing tranny lines ect? My next question will a mechanical equipped fan that is on the 5.3 work and have enough clearance? I have the stock driveline that came with the elcamino will that work on the 4l60e? Will the 5 3 stock oil pan have enough clearance being that i dont have any suspension upgrades or lowering kit? I would appreciate and help i can get.

I initially used the GMPP pan on my 1979 El Camino, but the sump hung down below the crossmember. I switched to the Holley pan, and that solved the problem.

He should also use the Holley mounts, since they are designed to work with the pan.

My 6.0 engine was from a 02 Escalade, (in an 86 monteSS)so similar setup as yours. The truck pan should go, or you will regret it. I used a CTSV oil pan, but would do the Holley Pan if I had to do it over. I used the holley kit, Engine mounts, tranny mount, headers, etc. Works great. Got a new driveshaft from PST. The old one was meant for a 165hp. 5.0 carbed engine. I have never seen a mechanical fan in an LS swap, most guys grab a Fbody radiator and electric fans. I measured mine, and there is 10.25 inches between the Harmonic balancer and Radiator, so If you can find a way to route the Radiator hoses, give it a shot. The tranny lines are on the passenger side, so that should not be an issue. However, if you are running AC, my original Gbody Radiator setup had a Driver side AC connection. You may want to consider replacing the original fuel tank as well. They can get pretty nasty after 30 years. BR Jerry
