What transmission crossmember are you guys using with the 1"setback mounts and a 4l60e? I bought thr Jegs 700r4 crossmember thinking it might work and it ended up being 2" too far forward

with the hooker motor mounts i used the stock crossmember with the th350 trans
i bought the hooker/holley ls swap crossmember (works with th400 and other transmissions too, with specific install kit sold seperatly) as i am eventually going to a th400

How big is your reservoir? Guy at whipple told me I needed a 2 Gallon. I guess the more coolant you have, the better

the reservoir for the maggie kit is so small my guess is 1-2 liters max, that is another thing i wanna change at some point but the large heat exchanger (intercooler)is going to help. eventually ill get a custom tank made a bit bigger. magnuson did a nice kit for the camaro as they keep everything fitted nicely under the hood but way too small of capacity, got the room now and im going to use it

What would ya'll recommend for a ford 9in donor? I'm told there's a few years the mustang had a usable rear end for the g body, but I cant find any clarification. Obviously it would take a little cutting and welding. Also, I'm looking for recommendations on new wiring harnesses for an LS swap, any issues with the painless 28 circuit harness connecting to the LS engine harness? Keeping fuel injection. Thanks.

I used a PSI harness as well. Been using it for two years and just took my LQ4 out to replace it with a 408, all of the connections were still strong and the harness held up great to daily driving. I'd say it's not much better than a DIY using a stock harness, but it's plug and play.

That's what I plan on doing. Run a string and then bring the string to Auto Zone/PepBoys/Oreilly/Napa to find a belt that fits.

Another method is to use and old belt, cut it, run it around the pulleys and over-lap the cut end pulling tight until snug with the tensioner in the correct orientation, mark it and cut it down to size and then measure the result. I'm 2 for 3 doing this and getting the correct size the first time. If it's wrong, go back and try, try again.

I am trying to use the MuscleRods B-body mounts to put a 2000 LS1 with the LH8 pan into a 1980 El Camino. The block side mounts are clearly labeled which way up. Trying all sorts of ways on the K-member mount, but no matter what I do can not get it to line up. The best I have gotten is the mounts seem about an inch too far out line up. Here are some shots of the closest I have been. Seems most I can find are people using the 1" setback with SBC mounts, no good photos of how these go in. Anyone have any ideas?
