You will need a spacer, flywheel and different bolts. The spacer bolts between the crank and the flywheel (hence the need for longer bolts) and you need a new flywheel to restore the alignment between the ring gear and the starter. Let me see if I can dig up those PN`s.

i thought all you needed was to get a converter with the correct hub/snout for an ls1 when ordering? can anyone confirm this?

i personally know a guy running an ls1 with a th400 and he's not using a spacer/adapter of any kind. he just had to order his converter to be used with an ls1 and that was it.

i don't know what he did for a flexplate, but TCI makes a stronger than factory one that most guys are using with their th350/400 swaps.

Yep, if you are getting a new convertor most TQ convertor companies can make one that will bolt right up. You just have to let them know that you want a LS1 nose on the convertor.

The PN`s are in this thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/471293-yet-another-crank-spacer-question.html . the flywheel and spacer are in post 1 and the bolt pn is in space 6.

Yep thats the spacer, its used on the 6.0L motors so that they will bolt to the 4l80e (the 80e still has the same torque convertor spacing as the old th350, th400, 200r4, etc)

The motor will bolt right to the trans, and the spacer extends the crank so that it will be the right depth for the convertor nose. I believe that the spacing for the 3 bolts that bolt the convertor to the flexplate is the same, but I cannot guarantee that yet as I have not physically checked it. In another post I read that you need a 1998 flywheel and that the 1999 and later have a 2mm smaller diameter bolt circle. That does not make sense to me because I bolted a 4l60e from a 1998 camaro to a flywheel for a 2001 tahoe. I have a 6.0L flywheel and spacer sitting so i could give you the dimensions if you want, but all my th350`s and 400`s are buried in the back of the garage so I have not tried to actually bolt one up.
