'95 Extended Cab S10/2004 GTO LS1
hello, I'm in the process of putting a 2004 GTO LS1 w/6-speed into my S10. I've read I have to use Corvette accessories and brackets and I was wondering how the placement of accessories and brackets on the GTO LS1 are compared to to the Corvette. If I do end up having to switch over what would I have to get? Thanks

You need...
all the Vette accessories from a 97' & up Vette engine, including the alternator, alternator mounting bracket, p.s. pump & brackets, crank pulley/dampner, & idler belt pulleys. Of course, you need all the bolts for these as well. Your existing water pump pulley should work fine. Buy a top mount passenger side A/C compressor & bracketry. All this can be found with research on this site. Also, most S-10 sites have lots of LS1 install info.

Yes, read the 800 page thread on S10 swaps. There really is a bunch of good info in there.
The GTO / F-body brackets won't work for an S10 swap. Reason: The alternator and the steering box try to occupy the same space. Truck brackets can be made to work, but they're 2"+ closer to the radiator than the 'vette stuff (which is already really tight and makes it even tighter)

Dipsticks correspond to the pan, so whatever pan you use (f-body, c5, c6, truck, whatever) you need to use the dipstick / tube that goes with that pan (and the pickup tube, and windage tray).

Hey guys,
I am putting a gto ls1/t56 in an s10 also. Is the gto pan not usable at all? I dont mind doing frame modifications. Anyone know of anyone that successfully used one? Just trying to see how much of the gto stuff I can use.
Also, is the f-body oil pan the best to use if you need to buy a different pan (and pickup, etc)?

Your best choice for pan is the LH8 pan from an '08 H3 Hummer V8.
