I need to put mine back in to do the sensor bungs and weld up the collector flanges, but that won't be for a while as the engine is on the stand getting put back together and I need to touch up the firewall after scratching it a few times.

Nice thing with mine is they come right out the bottom. No engine lifting, starter removal or anything else.

frickin cam won't be here till the end of the month. So I can't put her back together yet.
I told you yours were simple! I hate the fact I have to pull the engine to put in the headers, but thats what I get for not spending the money on an aftermarket frontend! But, Its ok, I need to redo the engine bay anyway, last time I painted it was 7 years ago.

What cam did you end up ordering?

Jack

What a PITA to get these things out, I had to yank the engine!

Nice job Jack! I had to pull the motor to get mine out. I scratched the firewall in the process. I sent them off today to get coated. Keep me posted on your build. Jamie

Hey not trying to cut in. But have you checked out the cam from (Texas Speed and Performance) sponsor of Ls1 tech. It's the Magic stick 4. This thing is bad. Suppose to give you 60 rwhp with stock Ls1. It actually comes from comp. You can hear this in a car on youtube.com Type in 67 ls1 Nova. It shows a picture of the dash. Posted by Unstang. Check this video out and turn the volume up this thing is awesome! Jamie P.S. Just a thought.

Duane,

I hope you did not buy that cam yet, summit is way overpriced!! Hell, the sponsors can get you that cam for under 400, and you can buy it off ebay for 327 shipped. other than that, looks like a good choice.

Jack, I sent them to Jet-Hot. They prep your headers and coat the inside and outside. Suppose to be good up to 1300 deg. Depending on what you want it can go to higher temps. Also has a lifetime corrosion guarantee. Not suppose to discolor. They have a new sterling out that looks chrome. He quoted me $280.00 a little more money but hopefully a better product. Jamie

Cool....I would hate to see the shipping bill on these things though, they are kinda heavy!

They also sell a various bend kit for 80 bucks, between this and that you will have enough material.

Default Radiator & Fuel Tank

What radiator are you using w/ your LS1? Are there any stock radiator's that will fit in a '66 Nova?

What are you using for a fuel tank, once again, any stock tanks that will fit w/ minimal modifications into the Nova?

Thanks,
Bryan

I haven't gotten a radiator yet. I'll probably do a 2 row aluminum (wide tube). I know Summit sells some universal fit radiators of numerous dimensions.

You can get stock Nova radiators still 2-4 core, but I dont think the in-out is right for the LS1's, but I haven't really looked into it much yet.

A stock (type) radiator can work with adaptors see:

The other option is to have a custom made unit, which could include a steam vent connection (LS1 at least)....

Gas tank...could use stock tank with inline fuel pump or go here:
