I LOVE that body style. Second only to the '70. I also think you are doing a phenomenal job on the resto! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments guy's. Progress has been slow. Not much to post. I need to get the seats ordered so we can finish the welding inside the car. It's been hard finding time to get on it. I hope to get some things ordered up soon. Just kinda being sure the sky is not falling..LOL!

Your car is inspiration for my 68' chevelle project that I'll be starting soon. I'm gathering up the chassis components now and when I have them all I'll start my frame-off. I'm also doing an ls3, just not sure if its gonna be efi or carb. Every day I'm leaning more towards efi. You have a great website!

I saw awhile back you posted a rear tire size. I run a 295/35/18 on the rear of my 69 on a 10" rim w/5" BS. The shorter side wall tightens up the look at the rear. Kinda hard to see in this pick.

I wish I could say there has been progress but not really anything. It is amazing how quick time fly's by. I hope soon though.

Jfg455, That looks good. The tire is a little hard to see, however I think I will run a 305/35/18 also. I sold my wheels like that and Ordered Fikse Profil 13,

18" x 11" & 18 x 9.5". They have been on order for about 4 weeks. I still have been on the fence about what tire size and brand. I waited on tires because I went back and forth on what wheel I really wanted and finally pulled the trigger on the Fikse.

Great car and cool build!
I am just now stuffing a LQ4/4L80E into a '67 chevelle. I am using a CTSv pan and to make it work, I am thinking about doing the same thing with the 1/2" spacers under the frame mounts. If I do that, I will need to mod the tunnel much like yours. You said you abandoned the spacers though. What are you going to do with your tie rod issue? Have you figure that out yet? Is it OK to raise an engine that much?

Thanks for any input.

Again, Great car. can't wait to see where you are with it.

Raising the engine is bad for driveline angles, especially if the car is lowered.

LOVE THIS SWAPS!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!

So what do you guys think the LS3 swapped Chevelle's will run non boosted? Curious, aren't they still kinda heavy cars when complete? One day I think I would like to build one just like you guys..Doing it with a Lexus now...

Thanks Rob. I ditched the spacers for the reason that Andrew mentioned on the post below you. In addition the 1/2" spacer was not going to eliminate the tie rod issue as it still would hit. I just moved on from it as it was only at full lock. I should mention that the body was off last time I checked. Perhaps the weight will help change the way things line up. There are a number of guy's that have installed an LS engine in Chevelles that don't seem to have the problem. I don't know about the CTS pan working or not. As for the tunnel mod I did it because 1) because the TKO needed more space and 2) because I saw that others have had troubles with the working angle on the driveline. Good luck on your build.

Thanks, Yes it will be a heavy car. See Andrew's sig for his build. It is a good read with lots of tech (post above you) he weighed his car but I can't remember what it was. I believe he ran a 12.7x with his on old hard tires. I am pretty sure that was pre tune etc so maybe low 12's with a cam only change is in his future.

I have not updated this thread in quite some time but in any case I have most of the body work done except for more block sanding. I figured I would just get it back home so we just primered it. Finding time to get to my brothers shop was hard. That was about end of May. In any case here is a few pictures right before I put the engine back in.
