Tonight I got the the power steering pulley and pump via UPS. I have had the engine in and out a number times and just did not think the ps pulley would be a problem with the steering box. I was wrong..
I am using vette acc's.
Note the pulley is not all the way in these pictures but even it was it would not work.

The pulley I am using is a C6. I am wondering what some of the other A-Bodies guy's are using and how close to the gear box is? Is the C5 pulley smaller diameter?
Below is a pic of the engine position. It is moved as far back as I could go. My first thought is move the engine forward which I wanted to avoid. Not sure that it would be enough anyway. Second thought was to raise it again via spacers between the engine stands. Also did not want that. Third thought was a Unisteer rack and maybe kill this problem and the nagging tie rod issue.
You guys have any thoughts or suggestions?

I believe a power steering pulley for a ford 6 cylinder is smaller diameter and same groove as what you need. There was another conversion on here last year that had to have a smaller pulley and I think that's what he ended up using. You may have to do some searching for it.

edit: found it. https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...swap-pics.html

Yes it is a Tom Lee 670 box. I got mine from Marcus @ SC&C but ATS also sells them.

As for the body mounts they came from a guy named Todd on pt.com forum. I believe his screen name is Latenight72 there and at team chevelle site. I am not sure if he still has some or not. IIRC he wanted some for his personal project so he found a source who could make them. And to keep the set up cost down he got other buyers. Try sending him a PM. If you can't find him let me know as I know he still posts over there.

I can't believe the difference those Fiske wheels made! I was going to go with polished TT II's on my 69 but after seeing that picture I have to rethink my gameplan!

I liked the taller tires myself. Did you have to do any wheelwell mods to fit them? I had 295/65/15's on mine, but they were very tight. What backspacing did you use on both wheels you have tried so far if you don't mind me asking?

Yes, a crazy build. Makes me want to go work on mine again!

Did you ever resolve the tie rod issue ? an f body pan or a s&p modified pan should give you a little more room for the steering linkage. JOHN

Thanks. I like the new wheels much more also. I just rolled the inner quarter panel lips but nothing other than that. The original rear wheels were 18 x 10 with 6" B.S. and the Fikse rears are 18" x 11" , 6.25" back space. I agree that the taller tire looked better in the rear but I also wanted a 305 mm tire so it was a give and take thing.

John, I did not. I just figured I would deal with like others do.

Not much progress in the last month but here are some pictures. I bought a S-10 pulley but it ended on being junk and was too sloppy, likely do to being pressed on and off. I bought a pulley from Zoops which will allow more room. I need to get a smaller belt.

I am fitting up fenders and starting on wiring. I put a big dent in the fender just too small of working area sometimes

a few more
