Air intake plumbing/system? Just curious what you guys are using and what it cost?
I'm looking for something with good flow that is budget oriented...maybe just a 90 elbow and a cone filter on that?
Special conditions needed for mounting the MAF?

At frist, I just order some rubber elbow from Jagsthatrun..
A 90 Elbow - 4" to 3 1/2" for the TB to MAF then to a filter.. but that didn't last long..
then I added a 3 1/2" 90, a 45 3 1/2" elbow and from there added my own Air box that is designed to match up with my Chevelle Cowl Induction hood.

Do you happen to know how accurate your MAF is in that configuration? I've heard that you'll experience a lot of MAF error when trying to read actual airflow with that drastic of a curve right in front of it, although haven't seen many people come back with hard data.
Have not had it on a dyno or anything. And I don't feel it is any issue as I don't do any street racing, but have had it on the 1/4 mile.. only in street trim and just burning up the tires in three gear.. so.. not a very good outting in street tires.. but it pulled pertty good all the way to about 6200+.
I have not scanned it in a while or at WOT.. so I really can't comment on the MAF errors related to the not striaght air flow... but none are being recorded.
For the Air cleaner setup.. It is a custom design that I made, follow my link in my sig to page #10. It show the mounting and air cleaner box. It is basically just like two straw hats.. one inside of the other.. with a oval tube joining the two to pass the filtered air to the MAF/Throttle Body.

LOL.. yeah.. the brown just didn't work for me on the Chevelle.. Although I do like it on my 4x4 SWB VAN... works good in the mountain and trees... while camping and 4wheeling...

I would not thing so sense my 5.3 in the 2002 Z71 has the MAF connected to the filter box from the factory. I just installed my JTR elbow same as Bczee has then MAF then carbon fiber (look a like) filter assy. I'm going to connect the filter to a PVC cleanout T and then duct to the inside lights on my cutlass. I purchased some of these on E-bay. I was really impressed with this flex hose product. You can shape it and it stays the shape.
