Default How Much is a LS1/ Mudstain worth?

Greetings swap gurus!

I have a chance to purchase a 95 Ford Mustang with a 4cyl/auto, A/C.It's a fox body style with under 40,000 miles and really LIKE NEW. No rust and perfect paint. Around $4000.

If I buy I'll convert to LS/T-56 to sell. Nice street car. Since friends don't let friends drive Fords this would be up for sale upon completion.

My question is what would this be worth to sell? If I can't make a few bucks I'll leave it alone. But since I have a 97 T-56 on the floor and an 01' Vette 5.7 long block also I thought about it.

Again...This car is in spectacular condition.

Thanks

My opinion is you will never get your money back. You'd come out better by selling the car as is and the engine as is. I don't believe there is too much market for ls1 powered stangs. They are defiantly fast but unless a drag racer just wanted it and had cash you'd have a real hard time coming out on it. I've seen a lot of guys doing that here I just wander how fast they are with a stock ls1 or slightly modified. I used to own a 87 notch back that would run 13's with only 210 hp under the hood. These ls1 powered one's must really scoot. Honestly I don't really have a clue about the market value me maybe some of the guys that have done it can shed better light on the subject.

Finished hot rods are usually worth half of what they cost in parts.

You would probably get a better price if you dropped a Ford stroker in there. But even then unless you got a deal on the stroker you might lose money.

Try running a Craigslist ad and see if you have any interest.

I have seen a few fox body mustangs with lsx engines go for between $7-10k, but haven't seen any sn95 sell. With hotrods you are selling to a much smaller group of people and with a swap like that yet an even smaller group. It may bring some cash, but it might take a while to find a person with it.

$4000 is too much for that car. Phil paid $400 for his swap car. Building hotrods to sell is not a profitable investment. I build a s10 that I later sold, I had over $18000 in it and sold it for 14. If you plan to keep it then ok, but building it to sell is not a good idea. Also forgot, 95 is not fox body, its 79-93, fyi.

Thats a sn95 not a fox. Like said before, it's hard to make money off modded cars.

This IS a fox body. Maybe I have the year wrong. Also does have a 4 banger.

Too bad I couldn't make a nickel on it. Really nice car for a Ford!

Then its proabaly a 92 or 93. Is it a coupe/ notchback? Its still not worth 4 grand. If you want to build it and keep it you would have to get it for less than 2000 bucks imo, or less.

As was said above, fox body stangs are earlier than 95. 93 was the last year for them. And also FYI unless your 97 T56 is from a vette, its an LT1 T56, and it won't work with an LS1... And if it is a vette tranny, it will need modification since they were mounted in the rear and bolted right up to the rear end...

TRUE...what ChevyChad said... your tranny will not work !! You need a 98-up F-body or GTO tranny.

Sell your motor and sell your tranny (that will fit LT1 and 1st GEN SBC and BBC... dont buy the stang.
