Default Who did the Monster Miata LS1?

Want to do this or the RX7 but if someone has a kit or something to make the swap easier I am all ears. A monster miata with an LS1 would be rediculous, I WANT ONE!!
Anyone know the biggest tires/wheels you can put in a Miata or RX7? can they be minitubbed or fender flared ?

Pettit makes some fender flares for the rx7; they say you can put "12 rubber with them.

I don't think a Miata has been finished yet. 1.8 roadster on here wants to do one, and the guys that started it last year with a T56 bailed on the project when they were oh so close. Don't know what happened, or why. Never see them on the Miata board either

I talked to Ken Kelly (designer of LS1 edit)and he said a few guys put one in a Cali car to meet the comunist emissions. Reason being the 5.0 is not a production motor anymore.

Hey I might be interested in picking up where they left off

Thanks for the info! Still want more though!!

Go with the 7, the Miata will need so much work to handle it, and it it will take away all the positive chracteristics fo the Miata.
The FD/LS1 is the ideal combo of looks, chassis, and power! The LS1 doesn't add any negative characteristics to the 7 (except tire smoke ) The Hinson cars are real nice, as well as all the DIY 7s. Hell, there are 2 LS1 7s in my area alone!

I am in the budget planning stage now and plan to swap a 01-02 LS1 into my 02 Miata. With the information that I have I will only add about 122 to the front end and about 150 total to the car. My power will go from 110 at the rear wheels to 340 or more. I don't think I will be disapointed. My dicision was made when I realized that I could have 100 LB/FT more power for about $2000 less than a turbo or S/C. (With the sale of the Miata 1.8L)

Middleburg is right outside of Jacksonville. check out www.jaxracing.com the guys re "IronDonut" and "1.3 litre" Careful on the site, they don't take kindly to strangers! We're kind of a ruthless, rowdy crowd I would register and them PM those guys, or page them in the General Discussion forum.
