How did Blake/you mount the fenderwell with so much of the fender lip removed?
Well since he took so much out the upper fender bolts were enough to keep his intact mine however I made a radiused cut that went from the bolt (if your looking at the fender straight on) 2 o'clock position, the 12 o'clock and stopped right before the bolt at the 10 o'clock.

Just figure right above the tire as it travels to full bump. The geometery I had on that car made it easy plus the tuneability made it even easier. I didn't run a heavy spring but I did ad a little compression to the shocks and added more rebound to them so the car would stick after coming out of full bump situation.

And a side note I added more up travel to the Chicayne kit by mounting the lower mount further on the lower control arm. His normal Chicayne kit uses a T-bar style shock mount which mounts the shock ontop of the lower arm, I mounted mine underneath it. Just another little thing to gain more up travel, especially on a car this low

This isthe sole reason that I put my heart and soul, blood, sweat, and tears in to the car and getting it exactly as I want it, because I plan on enjoying it as much as I humanly can... I certainly will not trailer/park/show it (who am I kidding, the paint isn't good enough and there isn't enough chrome anyways haha)... it is a vehicle and it was meant to be used and had fun with!

Turns out my Speartech harness didn't come pinned for the A/C high-pressure sensor wire, so everything came apart for me to fish out a non-used wire (brake pedal signal) and re-pin it in pin/slot #14, which was then hooked up to the wideband AFR signal for laptop datalogging of the AFR's..

And then things got even worse, I dropped the 4link shock cradle brackets and, well...

Luckily I had easy access to where they're supposed to go, now just to JB weld them back in place..

And finally things started to look up, got a glimpse of what "the office" will look like..

I love how close the shifter is to the steering wheel. Hard to tell but shifter is nice & close at about 5-6" away form the wheel (350mm diameter)..

"The Office" looks VERY well planned. Gauges look like they will all be visible, shifter and e-brake have nice placement, and the throttle & brake pedals are close for heel-toe (just be careful with your footwork on the street!). I really like that steering wheel.

Thanks Clint... everything worked out perfectly, was nice to finally sit in it and feel the fitment of everything.

The shifter is in a perfectly natural place to the wheel.. nice and close!

Possibly one of the best mods I did was flattening the floorpan and pinching in the trans tunnel right around the gas pedal so that I can have my foot vertical, plus almost an entire shoe's width between the gas pedal and the tunnel so there's plenty of room for the foot from the brake pedal in lazy-driving mode. I moved the gas pedal towards the brake pedal 0.75" closer than the setup in the 240sx daily driver, and heel-toe (for my size 13 it's actually leftside-rightside of shoe haha) is more than natural.

Was gonna wait for other updates but I guess I'll add this pic now, getting close

Haha... had a late night last night doing the first tune. Got a good chunk of it done... reusing Mark's 52lb injectors so using his stock-displacement 6L 7psi blower tune for fuel and then his current TT 6.6L tune for speed density guidance. Man I am so in over my head.

And Mark.. yea thanks for convincing me to do the extra effort. Was the final straw needed to realize that this build is not a "meh good enough" it's more a "f*** it I'm making this exactly how I want it because I might as well put in just that extra bit of effort while I'm at it."

Modification of G-Link shock cradle/cross-member. Tried to create notched "adapter" plates to raise the cradle cross bar ~2". Notches are so that the brackets "capture" the bottoms of the frame rails and "capture" the tops of the shock-mounting brackets, so that the load from the shocks isn't supported 100% by fillet welds in shear. Along with these notches, everything is 1/4" plate that has been chamfered at all welds and lots of filler rod used... these guys are beefy enough to make me feel content.

Driver side fender on for the first time in.... 2 years maybe? Need to notch the fender a little for room for the oil cooler which will sit behind the driver side headlight.

All it really needs until it can be fired are brackets to hold up the oil cooler, the oil cooler lines, the turbo feed line, then coolant and oil... almost starting to look sorta finished... exciting!

Oil cooler in and plumbed. Now just need to put the tank back in and hook up the fuel supply/return lines, and fill her with coolant & oil!

Arite arite sorry for the lack of updates, been real busy with work long days and weekends so tiredness + cold outside makes garage work after work less appaling. Did get a driveshaft that made, mocked that in, driveshaft angle is flat and the working angles of the u-joints are 1.5* or less depending on where in the travel the rear end is, so that's nice. Just need to figure out why my turn signals aren't flashing before I can put all of the interior back together. Also making another rear suspension linkage crossbrace to connect the frame-bracket upper link buckets to each other, to spread the cornering and horsepower loads better between the framerails. Pics to come when the progress comes!

it wasnt easy thats forsure..haha

I became freinds with him right after he bought ATS. The nice thing about us Nova people in this type of hobby (handling) we are rare so we tend to be rememberd. If I was another Camaro guy he would have just taken my money and thats it..haha

At the same time I got to know him he was building his Nova so I was able to give him some info on what to expect. Things like cutting the floor pan crossmember to clear a T56 the wheel tub issue, plus I had some spare LS motor stuff I gave him. He is a super nice guy

Devil if I may have taken you up on that if I would have known a week ago,,haha I picked up an lowered 66 c10 on Friday from a guy out in Gilbert.

Anyways Joe anymroe questions just ask. You have way more technical expertise then I do but I can give you real world ideas. I've had numerous suspensions on my car and I was lucky enough to be able to drive it every single day I owned it...

Chuck
I am in Surprise also, got a LQ4, single 88mm 72 Nova I'm building should be out soon. I have also been on the fence about selling my junk, no street scene anymore around here.

I can certainly relate. When my car was running and I wasn't ready to do any major swap or modifications, to some degree I was really bored with it. I lost interest and only drove it every once in a while. It wasn't until I met a friend who was also into cars that I started going to events again and taking a renewed interest in building the car to make it something different. I love building, modifying, fabricating, etc - to me that is what makes the car fun and gives me something to talk about, learn about and challenge myself with. I have been thinking about making a lot of additional upgrades during my build, but I also have held back because I want to save some upgrades & modifications for later to keep the car interesting. Looking at frojoe's work in this now epic thread, I am pretty sure we will see more changes down the road even after he gets it running. There will probably be a burnout period where he's just plain sick and tired of working on the damn thing, but you just watch... single turbo will turn into twins or he'll build a cage for it or tackle a custom frame/suspension or who knows what. To some degree I'm glad you sold your Nova, not because it wasn't an awesome car or that you coudn't have taken it to the next level, but because I'm sure there will be more really cool projects to come from you and I look forward to seeing them.

Frojoe you continue to impress. Two weeks is not a long time to go without an update; I'm lucky if I drill a single hole or step foot in the garage in a two week period. You must not be married or have children - if you are, I need to borrow your time stretching machine.

Is it running? If you go fast enough you wont need turn signals!!!
With such a flat driveline angle will this not introduce vibration? Are you saying from the tailhousing to the rear you only have a difference of 1.5*? What is the pinion angle set at? Slap a slip yoke in it and hit the switch!!!
