Yea... but.. you've been thru at least a couple long-working turbo setups, no?

Does this mean it's time for me to buy your PTE7675?

Sounds great! Temporary permit? Shouldn't you have this thing registered for the road by now?

To put full plates on it it needs an emissions inspection.. a program which is disappearing come Jan 1, 2015.. so thinking save myself the hassle of day permit, then inspection (still have to pay for), then back to insurance office, just to have plates on it until Dec 31.. I'm on the fence whether I care enough. It kinda rains a lot up here in the PNW.

Yea, changed it about 3 times now...just for the fun of it.

Well, I might not be able to sell it...the newest set-up is built around the turbo and there is nothing out there that I would upgrade to.

Plus, this turbo is going to make 700+ WHP for me and that is where I am going to stop. I should stop trying to kill this car...time to dust off the other nova and but build that one for 1000+ WHP

You just get yours going and maybe upgrade to a Borg S475 with a billet wheel

And to be honest, for what you and I (as well as others out there) are doing, a 76MM turbo is all we will need. My car is a street car with no cage and a 6 speed. If I was caged out and had a glide, the sky is the limit. Also, for traction, it is going to be hard to stick the tires to the ground as is.

But you are right, in due time as far as an upgrade is concerned.

Keep it up and stay motivated without getting burnt out!
Probably the hardest thing to do now (besides having money and time!)

Yea I forgot to mention that there's no way in hell an S475 is going to fit under my hood with.. current hotside setup... and I completely agree 76mm is plenty, just wish I had gone for a bigger hotside right out of the gate, so that I could hit 18psi and not get capped at 14psi.

I drove the car hard for a handful of days and at some point the oil pressure dropped enough to cause a bit of damage, however I never noticed it dip below 25psi at idle (I knew that was uncomfortably low anyways).

I was wondering what was up with the rattling, occasional metallic banging, very brief poof of smoke, and lack of boost on the last day I drove it. I figure this may all have started with my extreme low oil pressure from the screwed mains way back before I rebuilt the engine, and under varying loads, boosts, temperature, and accel/decel spooling cycles it just destroyed the turbo journal bearing.

Joe I am glad you finally worked out the bugs and I am sorry you have encountered new issues. The car sounds great and looks awesome as usual. I am sure you will bounce back rather quickly. I am looking forward to an all out run of this beast!
