Default Rear window ready to fall out

The rear window in my trans am 2000 is unglued on to and bottom. It's only holding by the sides. I need to take it to a profecional for repair.

So is it worth repairing a 10 year old roof or should I replace the whole thing.

That depends on the condition of the material. Professional will go
for replacement. Repair is not hard if you have any cleaning skills
and patience and a tube of polyurethane windshield adhesive. And
if you're ready to dollar down for a new top anyway, you may as
well try.

Where can I buy this polyethylene adhesive. Is there a write up on how to do this?

What do I use to clean the material before I glue it.

Thanks

3M Window Weld, available at most auto parts stores. It's applied like caulk. It's a thick black adhesive. I've used it to reglue parts where my rear window was separating. So far, so good.

Is there a procedure to prepare the window and fabric before applying glue. Was the roof in open or closed position.

Thank you

Let us know. I need to do this myself. i would suggest the following, as a guess (again, I have NOT done this yet):

Clean, clean, clean. the cleaner, the better adhesion
let dry over night if cleaning got the material wet/saturated
tape off areas nearby to protect from spillage/extra coming out
get a 2nd person to help folding the material back while you apply
let it dry throughly

Bought 3m double sided automotive tape. It's 1/2 inch wide and very strong. Applied to window and top. Took about 15 min to apply ( I cleaned the window with alcohol for about an hour). Let you know if it holds

If it dousnt then I will try the 3m window weld I also bought. But that's a much more messy job I'm more afraid to do.

The tape is holding strong so far. Turned put to be easy and cheap fix. Cost only $10.

I wonder if it would be cheaper to have top work done during the Winter since coverts are more of a seasonal thing; does that make sense to you guys? Something on the line of how Winter and Summer clothes are cheaper during their off season

I don't think weather makes a difference. Shop around every one has different prices

Seasonal prices-
Paint /body shops may charge more since they know people want to spruce up their cars. Shops that have slow business may charge slightly less but def won't be a 25% + discounts.
