widest wheel/tire combo on a vert

ok guys i am haveing some problems with tires right now

i havd an 18x10 wheel in the back but i keep getting told that only a 285/35/18 or an 295/35/18

but im wanting to put like a 305 on the back can anyone help me out on this?

i know someone that put 315's on his 10.5 inch Z06 wheels however i know it isn't recommended to do that because 315's are supposed to be mounted on 11 inch rims but i guess 305's would work

I have 315's (Nitto DR's) on a 9.5" wheel and it looks fine and no its not "correct" but works with no issue whatsoever.

However...the correct size wheel for a 315 is 10.5"'s wide.

Seriously, it depends on the Mfg of the tire. In any event, I've got 315's on my 11"ZR1 (5 spokes) and they fit fine. Have used Michelins, Khumos' and a couple other brands with no adverse actions.

I had 315's on 17x10 wheels on my 98 TA with minor rubbing on the inner fender, nothing the hammer didn't fix tho.

I plan on putting 315's on my 01 'vert, I don't see it being an issue.

I've got 315s on a 9.5inch wheel also. It looks good i think and i haven't had any problems other than a little tire rub.

Do our verts have a different rear wheel well than the coupes? I was thinking about doing the 17x11 ZR1s with the 315 tires if they fit.

295s max eh?

Im running 335s on 17x11 ZR1s. A little rubbing on hard corners and steep driveways, but not enough to really concern me. Look here:

Nowhere did I say 295's Max would fit. I did say I have 305's and they rub slightly and 295's would be perfect. I also mentioned my car has a suspension and unlike you... im running 18's not 17's. Do you think Maybe?!?! that has something to do with my situation.
