rollcages should be stock from the factory for all cars. no iff ands or butts. it sad and pathetic that the companies are to cheap to do it.
roll cages will save more lives than ever take. the ratio isnt even worth mentioning. a convertible is a deathtrap basically. we all know it. if i could afford it i would take the decrease in straightline for the added saftey. ntm is a great cornering mod

Personally i dont like roll bars in f-bod's. They look like poop IMHO. I have had two verts and never have i been sent home at the track for not having one. Its added weight and its not a pleasing appearence mod. There is not point for a roll bar unless you have a vert running 11.50 or less. I saw someone post about NHRA legality and the time is not 13.49 (from what i remember) There is a stock class for NHRA that makes you use a roll bar only when running 11.50 or faster. I think this is called the pure stock class which basically tells you that you cant have a internally modded engine to qualify for the class.

Paragraph 6...... I would print it and keep it in your glove box so that if a tech gives you trouble you can give him the rules.
Read the whole thing though... It gives a rundown of what meets the pure stock class.

actually all cars are supposed to have a rollbar if they run faster then 11.5 it doesn't matter what class you are running in..also some tracks aren't nhra so they dont go by the nhra rules that is why some tracks wont bother you about having a cage. Honestly though most tracks wont bother you if you are in the 13's but im sure that if you were deep into the 12's or dipped in the 11's they may fuss about the cage

Actually i had to with my old car when i was running 12.5's. The tech didn't know about the pure stock class. They didn't kick me out of the track that night because of the print out. I got stopped at the end of the track and was told that i need a roll bar with my vert.... they sent me to the tech guy (who passed me at tech in). He read the sheet and confirmed that i was within the requirements of meeting the pure stock class due to me not modifying the internal engine. Bolt on mods shouldnot affect this classification.

it states,
" Pure Stock Street Legal rules are specifically intended for street-legal vehicles that are production stock, as manufactured and sold by the original automobile manufacturer."
Since bolt-on's are modifications that were installed not by the manufacture, thus, you are not applicable for Pure Stock. I believe this class is regulated towards cars like my Z06...
