Default 1/4 mile time

well just ran my new vert for the first time with the G-tech on the stickiest backroad i could find...ran a 13.53 on street radials (245-40-18) with the ONLY mod being a cherrybomb pro series chambered muffler. just was wondering if that was about right or slow or quick etc...i have a 98 A4 vert with 95,000 miles...and one more thing do u all think i can get into the 12's with some longtubes and a slp lid and filter? thanks for any advice

Sounds about right. Long tubes and air lid should put you damn close. Throw a nice stall on there and some sticky tires and you'll be in the 12's all day long.

I haven't run the 1/4 mile yet, but in the 1/8 mile my best is 8.88 on street tires. Lid, K&N, TSP underdrive, and flowmaster 80 series is about all that I have.

it took me some 3.90 gears to finnaly crack the 12s but when i did i went pretty far in with a 12.70 pass vs my 13.1 pass with LTs, lid, ported TB and some stickey tires.

sounds great then im gonna get a lid and better filter and some LT's...and then run again...and probably gears or stall next...was looking at the EDGE converters when the time comes...around a 3500...u think that would be too much or good? cause its the same price basically so i should go a lil big ...

o and what do u all think about these stainless LT's? really cheap price on ebay and they have lots of them...

That stall isn't too big. I know plenty of people who run a 3600 and love it. As far as the headers that is really cheap. If you get them let me know how you like them. I'm acquiring a parts pile for my build and still need headers. Just remember you get what you pat for.

stock the mag says 13.8 or 13.9 1/4. with a lid, catback headers, then at least a mail order tune you should be happy. sticky tires help! i'd also recommend LCA'S (lower control arms) and SFC'S subframe connectors. those will give you better traction. after that a ported TB maybe.

hey i would seriously think about taking off that chokemaster 80 series...put a higher flowing muffler up there i bet ud pull a 8.70 over that 8.88..its proven

Sense my last run I have put on a cut out and I can see and feel the difference on the street. I am not a fan of the 80 series anymore. I had 40 series on my 69 pontiac and that is the only thing that I would run with alarge c.i. engine. I can only imagine what my Z/28 will do with the cut out. I also got that time with Nitto NT450 whitch I HATE. They are not sticky at all, and there is almost no way to warm them up and get them sticky. But I guess thats what I get for going cheap. The best tires that I have had for street/strip use that was not a drag radial are the Fuzion ZRi's 245/50/vr16. They are really good and when all the tread is gone they are great drag slicks and hold up for a long time. I went 6 months on them bald and they never popped.

13.40 stock on a '01 m6 ...so i must be right on cause im a '98 with 95k miles at 13.53 with just a muffler on stock tires...everyone says the 98's have suckey heads but yet they came with a bigger cam(egr too) than the rest..of course we dont have that ls6 intake either...so i cant complain with my times...soon im gonna get some MT et street radials and some offroad LT's(delete cats too) and a lid/filter and hope to pull that 12.89 like u.

your times aren't bad at all..when i was stock my car was running 13.7's..now with a few mods and a tune i have ran a best of 13.09@109.9. If i had some sticky tires i would have easily been in the 12's

i could have probably nailed the 12 a while back if i had the right tires. Those dr's i have made a HUGE difference in my 60 ft times. I get faster and faster on them each time i go. They didnt hook good brand new, but after i got a little rubber gone on them, they hooked like a ****!! They dont even need much of a burnout. The last time i ran on them, I luanched the car at like 3800 rpm and immediatley stood in it. I have never felt the car leave like that...good feeling. Wouldnt recommend it on a 10 bolt tho. I busted mine with street tires, I drive the **** outta my 6spd tho. Hoping the trans holds up...

you probably will especially with those mt's. I only got the bfg's cause everyone said they last a little longer than those. I am hoping to do a cam swap by the end of the month, headers by the end of next week. I am getting a tourqer v3 from tsp. Not sure what i will do then... shooting for a low 12, hoping for any kind of 11. Cant wait

i ran 13.00@105 stock. then i ran my current time with my mods. though my the PCM was cutting my power off the line because of using the MT streets.

slick wont gurantee you better times. i did 2.0 60fts with normal Fuzion tires. and with the ET streets i still only could do 2.0 60fts. the computer just would not let me put anymore tq against the tranny than that i guess.

ohwell. i guess its their for a reason... IE saving my tranny from me LOL
