Time. It escapes me.

But, in the couple minutes here and there,..I ran wires through firewall for widebands, still haven't given power though, found power steering leak, loose fitting, heat treated underside of hood, converted tires to nitrogen...cause I could, made some filters,..and added another 300 rpm to the tune. Still needs some time,...I just have little of it.

Not dead.

Have had issues,..long story short, in my, and several others opinion, camshaft related. So,...after a lot of diag, tunes on my stock ecm, injectors, MAF codes, etc...I am hoping to put this all past me very soon, and have the car driveable as it was over a year ago. with that said...basically I wanted to run an undisclosed spec'd camshaft,..and I was wrong to think I could on what I had...stock ecm, etc. Anywho, you never know until you learn the hard way, and one day, we'll use the cam in a bigger inch project and call it a day.

That nonsense said...

New camshaft, injectors, steering gear going in this weekend coming up,....hoping to be rolling by sunday(street ready). If it's not running by this weekend, i'm also bring the AK. So for the cars sake, I am hoping it goes smoothly.

Keep you all posted with pics and videos.

We all learn by the hard school of knocks. I've learned more from my failures than I have from my successes

Hopefully you get everything sorted out over the weekend.

Thanks Tony. I'm pretty sure I have learned the same way. Usually makes us good at something. Apparently, not in this case. But, oh well, it needed to happen cause if it didn't happen on this setup,..it may have happened on the next. Although my car is the smallest cub'd car in the bunch so I was probably doomed from the get go.

Anywho,...i'm just waiting on the cam now, and I priced out a steering rack,...holy crap it's expensive. Anyone have one laying around?

haha,..good one.

I am hoping so to man, thanks. With this hurricane coming, and the cam not arriving yet,...I am starting to think, it may not happen again.

We shall see.

So, one cam swap later,...and I have a working vehicle again. It now idles on its own. BIG thanks to my cousin Josh deubel and my boy Dave Paris for taking they're weekend and helping me do the swap in a day(not easy on a PTK car). Thanks to Diablosports Mike Litsch and Johan Mangs for putting up with my F'd up setup and trying to help me get this thing right,..I appreciate it. Thanks also to Brian Mcmahon for his help also in trying to get this thing runnning. I appreciate everyones help.

That said, I have just a few things to finish up on the car. Re due plug wires, figure out plug/coil setup,..I have a couple of traction codes,..and a few lines to clean up. My oil feed lines are old, and now leaking after sitting for some time,...gotta change that now.

Good news is, it is truly close to street driving. Hopefully within the next month, I will be starting a new thread,..with some street vids.

keep you posted.

Awesome, I was psyched to hear it was idling on its own yesterday.

You guys may have set a record time on that cam swap
