Default What can we do to increase Corvette traffic here?

When we started this site, we were really hoping to see more hardcore tech-oriented Corvette owners joining us here. We want to be a multi-platform LS1 website, and incorporate ALL vehicles that share the same engine platform.

Is it because most of the Corvette owners out there do not realize that there are other cars out here with the same motor? There is a wealth of technical discussions going on about these motors on this site, yet none of the Corvette guys are catching on. Things they learn here would help them all make their own choices on their car, and probably save them $$$ down the road. Sooner or later, talking about air filters and different catbacks has got to get boring, hopefully they will discover this site.

Lets get this section of the room going! Any technical questions posted here should be easy to answer from our experienced staff.

I've been sending an e-mail to a few people I know that might be interested. Seems most 'vette owners are either happy with the car as is, just want a few upgrades (air intake, etc.), or they stay on the 'vette specific sites.

Keep in mind LS1.com had a pretty bad rap of either ignoring or giving 'vette owners a hard time. They need to see that it's not like that here.

Everyone needs to keep passing the word.

Thanks Walker! Very few C5 guys ever participated in the LS1.com discussions, but the ones that did learned alot for sure.

All kidding aside, I come here almost every day and read, but I don't have alot of input on the engine yet.
Sometime next year I'll have more to say!!

Tony it's been a very busy end of the year for me. Hopefully more people and myself will have some more time in a few weeks to get this section moving!

As what was said above, most C5 owners are happy with adding an air filter and calling it modified.

Tony,
I just posted over at corvetteforum.com and c5-corvette.com a little while ago. It looks like it is bringing some traffic slowly I love this site!

It is mainly because there is no smiley for the C5, you only got and
j/k LOL

Well, maybe if each one of us adds a link to this site in his signature, people from the corvetteforum might start coming here more often.
Besides, there are not many technical oriented C5 owners there. Some of them talk about a cold air intake like if it is a bolt on Supercharger

I must admit that I learned alot from LS1.com

I've been a member of the CorveteForum plus a few other vette specific forums for quite sometime. I also know that the F-body's have shared the same motor as the vette for quite awhile.......but past that i'm clueless to the rest of the F-body realm.

Now having said that, every time i come to this forum (which hasn't been often) i'm kind of confused by the Forum Sections (ie. i'm not sure which ones would apply to a vette). The only section i know i can definitly use or be of assistance or contribute too is the Vette section. I know the LS1/LS6 Engine Tech Section is sort of helpful...but the problem there is how am i supposed to know what stuff is strickly for an LS1 F-body and not for the vette?

On a side note: I consider myself sort of a techie, but i guess this site is strickly for the HARDCORE.

I guess I never thought of it from your perspective 97C5ENVY. Most of the hardcore C5 guys on this site own or have previously owned LT1 or LS1 f-bodys.

I think on average more of the C5 guys are less interested in knowing how the stuff under the hood works, and even less interested in modifying it themselves. I know a good chunk of C5 guys that DONT fit the stereotype I just mentioned, but on average more are like what I described above than not it seems.

Maybe if yall sold stuff with Corvette logos on them they'd flock over here? Seems like anything will sell if it has that logo on corvetteforum.com

Having gone from a POS Fiero 2M4 to a C5 i have very little knowledge of any other sports cars (ie F-body's). So it's just easier to stick with vette only sites to get information. I guess what i'm trying to say is that maybe there's more vette owners in the same boat as i, and maybe that's why there hasn't been a lot of vette traffic here. Dunno....Just my $.02 though.

I think it will take time and word of mouth and posting on vette forum with links in the sig to get more vette owners over here. On the old site most of the members were f-body owners there too so naturally fewer C5 owners have heard of this site.

Also see if we can get Zip and Ecklers to post a link from their websites to LS1Tech from their C5 sections or something like that.

I also think that most (not all) Corvette guys just feel more comfortable hanging with other Corvette 'only' guys maybe. Being a C4 and LS1 F-body owner, I personally liked it better over at LS1.com (and now here too of course) then I did over at the Corvette Forums, though I do still visit there.

Hi everyone...I saw WickedLS1's post on another 'Vette oriented site, so I thought I'd click on over to check ya'll out...

I have a bone stock Pewter/Black 6-speed C5 that I'll want to be modifying in the future...I'd like around 400 HP at the rear tires, so I'll be reading posts and dropping an occasional message...looks like you have a nice site here...
