Looking for two more HARDCORE C5 section Forum Directors...
We need TWO highly-motivated, well experienced, reputable C5 section moderators. If your Corvette hauls *** and you did alot of work or research on it, you just might be a candidate!
Please do not respond if you are not serious about this position. Our Forum Directors typically are able to access the site at least once per day to maintain the section (easy to do). We also ask that you help field some tech answers, and create NEW topics! This site is based on its staff of hardcore tech enthusiasts and racers, and that is what we are looking for.
All interested candidates, please email me at ynot_dv8@hotmail.com and tell me why you would be able to handle this task and how you have plans to benefit this site and its growth.
Oh yeah, just so you know, our staff here gets a nice 5% discount off regular pricing from our sponsors for purchases under $1000. Just a little motivation other sites do not offer. And, its also easy to get "hook-ups" from sponsors and potential sponsors if you are part of the staff at a very popular site. You know, for "testing purposes" LOL!
Lets make this section ROCK!
Please email me all inquiries, or you may even nominate people in this thread.
Regards,
Tony Whatley

Im selling this *one* C5.
If you guys think that a) Im leaving or b) I dont like vettes anymore, y'all are just NUTS.
Im all over the job. Im here all the @#$%ing time, I love C5s and think I know at least 30% of whats going on with them... I am going to have my SS until the day I die, and it still wont be fully running then, and BTW... I am selling the C5 so Im in a better position to get a)a house and b) a EB Z06. Have you DRIVEN a 02' ZO6??? You'd sell your normal C5 too if you had. With an air intake 365hp *stock*. I cant resist dudes...
Its high time to start looking at what a C6 is going to be too
anyways, yeah, Im still here, and NO Im not leaving. ;P

Huh... I know my wife knows what it is, but she wont share, so as long as I get paychecks and dont become an alcoholic, I cede management of the Master Plan. I think Ive squeeked in a Z06 in a garage with the "cute little house that we can fix up!" item. Sort of a pair. Remember that Tom Hanks movie "the Moneypit"? ... Ah well.
Things to discuss in the vette forum while our vettes are in the garage, under cover, on little pieces of carpet....
a) How do you build a Road Racing vette that gives up *no* refinement to a new one, without spending $1.7 million.
b) How do you build a (or can you?) Drag racing vette that gives up *no* refinement to a new one, and handles OK?
I see most vette owners as being so happy with what refinement they have, they really really dont want to mess with things, even if they have the money and the desire to go a whole lot faster. If we answered THESE questions, objectively and finally, then I think we will have alot of readers. Jeff at MTI wanted what I wanted. I really really quick vette that didnt shake when it idled, didnt make any more noise than a thoaty improvement on the original, and didnt dump low end torque for high end zing. He had the means to drop in a really really mild 422. I would like to do this to the future Z06. stock valvetrain (obviously aftermarket cam), stage1 or 2 heads, EASY clutch, but a 422 possibly with a Eaton style charger on top. Quiet, easy, and 600 lb/ft there all the time. No wait, no bottle to fill, no parts to break, no idle to deal with, no drone at 2000, no 9mpg. I think the answer is a super budget 422 (is that a contradiction?) + 5psi. Now...is there a Star/SPEC clutch up to that job? I really dont want to put a clutch in the car that feels like my SS's Cartek. Damn strong clutch... No way I'd put it in a vette, IMHO. I think you could do the above mods for 20k$, installed by someone else.
As for drag racing, I really dont know. Weight transfer and rear-end dynamics on the vette are REALLY not ideal. The best mod for dragracing if you have a vette?

Tony- It gets kind of hard to think of new discussion topics when its stored in the garage and too cold to want to work on it.

Tom Garland, aka NEVER ENOUGH............
I would REALLY like to see this Corvette section take off. The rest of this site has a ton to offer, and only a few Corvette guys have figured that out so far. We need topics generated daily, hell even hourly, to get discussions rolling in here. Since this section is an all-encompassing Corvette section, it should be FILLED with drivetrain, suspension, wheels, bolt-ons, interior items, etc.... exclusive to C5s.
I've got a list of candidates right now, I need to get with Colonel and PSJ and discuss it with them first.
