hahhaha... that BOMB **** is awesome.
We were all hanging out at a buddies house...jokeing, about my weird habbits with cars....when my buddie "sprayjunkie99" says "do you realize that, if you and Marco(my other buddy that had a spec pressure plate shatter the same exact way in his C6 about 1 month after mine blew up) were driving anything but a vette, i'd know TWO mother f'ers with one foot each"
We all laughed.....then stopped and thought about it,...and it really isn't funny when you think of it. Highly recommend shatter blankets or bullet proof bell housings for everyone that has a manual trans...and likes to bang bang bang bang awy those gears.

How bad did the clutch breakage shred the car??? I'm really interested because I'm going to be needing a clutch in the near future and hearing this will most definitely impact my decision on what clutch to purchase.

....I could have bought it for 6500 bucks...or so "I" was told.
The car...needs...
cooling fans, heads(the ones on the car are empty, hehe), in needs a front cover, since the cam was cutout, thats right bitches, I cut my cam out, it needs a bellhousing, clutch, etc etc, torque tube, the trans is inside but, needs to be overhauled, the diff is good, it needs an engine harness, fuel lines, windshield, wiper motor assembly unless your makeing a race car,....what else.....ah..................a shifter........hmmm...an exhaust system, as I only have stock mufflers hanging on the car........hmmm...various sensors.
I'd say it would make a nice race car. If I had the money, I would have kept it but.....i did what I had to.

Decision should be simple,...don't buy a SPEC clutch. Being in the automotive industry, I have never badmouth'd any tuner/builder/parts supplier ever....except for them. They really do have a problem, and mine, is not the only case. The amount of emails and PM's has been overwelming over the past year(has it been that long)...wow... many people have had similar problems...fortunatly...no person I know of, has lost their legs.

OMG is right man. Try...if you can, to imagine...makeing a U turn, in first gear...somewhat slideing.....you stay in it......powershift 2nd gear...car is sliding but nicely pulling, and straighting itself out all by itself......powershift thrid gear......nice....car's pulling hard.....at around 5800rpm or soo....right around there....at roughly 104mph....BOOM.
For a split second, I truly thought I blew the motor, and no joke, a split second later...the words my fathers been telling me now for years about flywheels/clutchs coming through cars...became a reality.
It just happened. I didn't bug out, I didn't panic. I lost all power everything, brakes, controls...steering...etc etc....my car looked like the space shuttle taking off, with the BALL of smoke I had coming out of the cockpit and tail section. I was able to take a 20mph turn at 40mph.....and e brake it to a slow stop alongside my dealerships fire entrance.
Is was really fucked up man. I just looked at it and laughed. Coudln't belive it. Everyone thought I was in shock or something so they started feeling on my legs, and pulls up my paint legs to make sure I wasn't bleeding.
Honestly, the best way I can describe it, is like you just ran over a land mine....or a grenade or something. It realy was wack.
Honestly,...I think of that moment, everysingle time I go wide open throttle.
Every single time.

Jeezus man, that is amazing. Both in the fact that it happened and in the fact that you weren't injured.
Did Spec own up to a catastrophic failure of their components or claim it was "abusive driving" or some other junk? I was considering a Spec 3+ but now........I think I'm going to look for other options. That really sucks that it happened, your car was gorgeous man.
