Are the 07's 6spd autos? Forgive my ignorance, but I thought the '06's were 4spds from the factory.

from what i know they have both an available 6sp manual and 6sp auto, no more 4sp autos. but really good times! i was wondering how one of those would run

This might start a flame war, but generally speaking, Atco is a much stickier/quicker track than E-town, given the same/similar conditions/D.A. If you're looking for a personal best in a stock/near stock/bolt-on, less than drag slick tired, and non F.I./not sprayed car, your best bet in this area is still ATCO!!
Now, if you happen to find a "perfect/can't be beat" air day at E-town, when they have either prepped the track just for you, or prepped it for 7-8 sec. Pro Mod cars running just before you do, then you might just beat Atco's launch pad (GOOD LUCK finding this, you have a better chance of hitting the Mega lottery!!!!!).
Besides there are much fewer (although still some) rice-a-jabronies clogging up the staging lanes and breaking/grenading/oiling down the track, forcing lenghty cleanups, at Atco vs. E-town. They seem to swarm to E-town's test & tune/street nights like roaches to rotting, stinking garbage.

'05 were all A4s (4l65e). '06 started the A6.

Send some of that weather down here to Houston, we can't wait until January like usual!

Nice times, looks like the track was sticking for those 60' times on runcraps.

Thanks Tony.
The track was sticking for me somewhat (good burnouts) better than for others but the cold air/cold track did have me spinning a tiny bit more than I was back in March when I actually squeezed off a 1.88 as opposed to the 1.89s I hit this time.
In the right conditions I think I can possibly cut roughly a 1.86 on these tires and if the air is there as well I might see a 12.29 in stock trim?

With even more break in miles (ya gotta get that sucker over 10k!) and perfect conditions, I know your car will pull a 12.29 Marc! Actually, all you need is a day just like you had last weekend, but with the temp 5F cooler that would give you a .05 reduction in your ET (every 10F drop in temp is worth about a tenth of a second on a 12 second car)

True, but that cold air can be part of the problem as well, traction (especially on F1 runflats) is diminished as well. It was VERY cold out that night as it was, any colder and the water box would've froze and while I normally dead hook in this car after a burnout, this time it was spinning a bit more than I'd like. I think a few degrees warmer actually yet with a similar barometer and low humidity might be my best path to the .2s possibly.

Very nice. I've wanted to get my car to the track just out of curiosity, so now I have a basic idea of what to expect. Were you running sport or manually paddle shifting? Mine is also still bone stock down to the paper filter. I've been eyeing a Procharger (I want to keep the stock look), some LG Longtubes and some DTE add-ons for the rear, but I haven't quite figured how to get that past the wife.

Oh yeah, BTW;

CONGRADULATIONS MARC ON THE SICK TIME!!!!!!

I know this sounds COMPLETELY off the wall to everyone here, but Marc is crazy enough to shoot for an 11.99, as the car sits, in PERFECT conditions!!!

You would've loved the conditions we had last weekend when I went 12.81. It was cold (38F) but sunny so the track had enough heat in it that it was hooking very well. Even the 9 second cars that were there were launching pretty hard, considering how cold it was out. In my 15 years of drag racing I've never seen a more perfect race day! It wasn't even crowded at all, I could make a pass and come back around and within a minute I was at the starting line again, there was barely a line up at all. And with the exception of one or two cars, everything there was fast American muscle. It's going to be hard for me to ever find a race day that perfect ever again.

Thanks. Most stock A6s I've seen are still running in the 12.5 - 13.1 range depending on the racing conditions (air, track etc.) so that might be a better yardstick to measure by.
I keep in Sport automatic mode, the paddles may ultimately be faster but I won't attempt using them again (hit the rev limiter while trying once) until I have a rental day with unlimited passes.

That ain't gonna happen in bone stock trim LOL...but throw in say a Vararam, 160 degree thermostat and some tuning and then who knows.

11.99 isn't going to happen unless he gets the chance to run in -2000DA and with perfect traction, so in other words he'll need to go on a private track rental day in January when they are laying down tons of VHT. I do believe his car will go definitely go 12.2s, and will be eagerly watching all the message boards he posts on over the next few weeks.

Are you planning on any modding? Are you worried about your stock tranny holding up against posible 11's? Any stock C6 tranny's in the 11's with no issues?
