Default I've only had wheel hop in the C6 once

That was all it took....

Launched at next to nothing, real sweet, smooth. 3ft out it started to hop, I back pedaled, too late.
Stock runflats. The case is sitting sideways on the rear K-member. Its not good... prolly tore up the tranny too. We'll see. That piece was one of the chunks that fell on ATCO.

Mods: 403 with over 500 rwhp.

That sucks.

If it makes you feel better(i know it won't)....the same thing happened to black bullet 1...in his C6 Z51. Only thing is, he was bone stock...stock tire...etc etc. Mild wheel hop for a sec...too late. boom. The entire back of the diff came off. Which, I have in my tool box as a trophy.

Crazy ****. Either way....that blows.

I had wheel hop in mine twice and both times I got off it as fast as I could. Both times I had to pick up the parts. Both times it snaped my tranny output shaft and destroyed my rear end case. I was on street tires as well. I now have a hardened output shaft and a tranny rear end cage.

This seems to be a common problem, I know 9ball had the same problem, but he was boosted, im sure he will chime in,

Lg makes a nice one working off the DTE unit. I got one with a hardened output shaft for the long side and 3.90 gears. I also added the DTE brace and it works fine at the track. I use all kinds of tires, Et streets, Nittos DRs and Firehawk wideovals. The car has wheel hopped a little on this rear end and it is holding up nicely.

My car makes boosted car tq

Sig, does LG add anything to the case? Gussets, or anything? I'm not a complete believer in the C6 brace, the C5 one is great, but I'm going to throw one on just for giggles.

The C6 cases are weak for sure. I think the way to go...mine is in process...is to do the C5 chunk swap and get a DTE C5 rear done. Just have to buy C6 side cases and it bolts in. Cartek in your area was the first to do it.

Yeah Ron, I looked into it. I can fab up the mounts and what not but from what I hear the C5's will crack with hop also. they might last a bit longer, but its no sure thing.

I'm going to go with adjustable coil overs all the way around. and use a DTE diff until they billet cases come out. Corvettes of Westchester is looking into maybe taking a stock 05 case and doing some custom TIG work for me... but I need to see where that pans out.

Right now I need an 05 core. Anybody see one or have an idea of where to look please let me know. 3.42 gears would be nice as its a series 3 case and a little stronger. Mine was a series 3 and it blew up anyway but I'll take all the help I can get.

Mine would only wheel hop if my shocks were set in the soft setting. In performance it would not hop. But I have the DTE brace now and all hardened shafts and tranny output shaft just in case.

Considering how bad my car was hopping when I was at the dragstrip and on the street sometimes, I guess I can consider myself lucky nothing broke.

I think Lg just does a little more cleanup on them. A lot of deburring.

The differentials LG sells and carries are direct from us and built by us entirely, they just re-label them as theirs. LGM is a dealer for DTE products.

OT, I have a question. Does MTI Racing carry DTE diffs now too? I have a friend who was wondering, thanks.

I'm going with a C5 chunk with C6 sides, DTE brace, coil overs and I'm having the tranny gone through, race spec'd and remmed (kind of like micro polishing). Had a very positive experience with Rockland Standard. They are very close so I think they will do the build.
