Viper's are a lot cooler than a C6. The only problem is that they have less features available i.e. no talking satellite navigation, auto start etc etc. active handling etc. etc.

dude a corvette is an ordinary car. A viper is an exotic! theres no comparison for me. A v-10 and a rare car? everyone has corvettes they are everywhere not many people have vipers. I personally love the way they sound and theres a growing aftermarket to make your viper even more unique. Ive heard the previous generation had a lot of problems but the newer ones are supposed to be reliable. Still kinda crappy interior for that expensive of a car but gues what? same problem with the vette so oh well. let us know what you get!

Or...look at used c6 z51's. You'll save some money, won't eat the initial depreciation, and you can put what you saved into an APS TT kit.

The vette is a much better all around sportscar. It IS not an ordinary car, seeing as how 53 yrs of racing heritage go into the engineering. It is more common bc it IS such a good car for the money, and is very docile in traffic.. The viper is an exotic, but you will get a better platform for the money going for the vette. Go and test drive them both.

The Corvette is MUCH better in traffic. That and it is a lot cheaper to repair.
For some info though the forged pistons were dropped because the newer lighter weight race derived ones performed better overall.

Ive had a 2004 C5 and currently have a 99 viper. You'll get more attention from car guys...women and and everyone in between in one week from driving the viper than you will in a year driving the Vette.....
Then the 99 Viper stock for stock was a full second faster than my C5 and is around a 1/2 second faster than the C6...
C5.....105-110 mph trapps
C6.....110-115 mph trapps
gen 2 96-02 viper....115-120 mph trapps
gen 3 03-06 viper...117-122 mph trapps
The 03 that your thinking about getting would trapp 116 mph with Steve Ercle driving..A stock C6 on the other hand needs Ranger to drive it in order to hit 116 mph. Not trying to be stupid. but it's seriously that much faster.
But Id have to recommend getting a 96-99 GTS or rt10. They are forged and constantly put down 10 more rwhp than the 00-02's..
These years are also more likely to be collectable.
And their 115-120 mph trapp speeds are more than enough for most. As well power comes really easy on the 8.0.. I recently gained 18 rwhp from intake tubes and no cats. That cost all of $200. putting me at 428 rwhp and 473 rwt on the 99% bone stock engine...
You wont see many 96-06 Viper guys getting rid of their vipers for a C6...A few maybe for the C6z06. But none for the C6.
on the other hand..1 out of every 10 vette guys is planning on eventually getting a viper.
Why take a small stepping stone when you can get what you really want now?
