I had an 01 RT10 and it was a pretty cool car but they absolutely inhale fuel. The difference between it and my 03 Z06 was minimal performance wise and the car didn't have enough space to carry a spare set of underwear. Everything on those cars is inflated expense because of the low production numbers. The 500hp SRT does not outperform a well driven 2nd Gen Viper at least as far as the 1/4 mile goes, but has the reputation for being much more civilized. It will thrash an LS3 Vette though. If you prefer the look then get it. I don't like the SRT looks that much. Has kind of an S2000 thing going on but it is an exotic which the Vette is not. Instant celebrity status. I suspect it will not match up to the Vette if you are into long road trips but it isn't exactly a buckboard either. And it isn't some high maintenance thing like a Lotus or Lambo.
