2008 C6 LS-3 first Cam/LG Header/ K&N dyno at LG Motorsports
Hi Guys,
Here it is. This is an 08 C6 with an LG G7X-4 cam with LG Pro Long Tube Headers, K&N Air Charger, and stock performance muffler but with No tune. Computer tune to come this week.
484rwhp 440 rwtq
We did another pull after the engine was allowed to cool off and hit 488rwhp. I don't have that graph scanned in yet but I will get it up later.
This indicates that there is some heat related timing control issues just like the first dyno pulls of the original C6 Z06 before a tune.
At any rate, it looks like an easy 500 rwhp or there about with just the tune. And we are working on having a set of ported heads ready soon to install to get those numbers also.
Thanks
Lou Gigliotti LGM

Looks like a simple H/C and exhaust LS3 is going to be able to tame a tuned C6 Zo6. GM is making the Corvette better and better every year or two. LG Motorsports is leading the way in tuning and modding the LS3, can't wait to see the update once heads are installed. Keep up the good work Louis, Sean, and Mikey.
How big is the cam did you guys put into the new corvette ??

No sir I didn't forget, I did forget to say it will walk a cai, tuned with headers c6 zo6. You are 100% correct though. An ls7 is able to make 630 rwhp with a big cam, head work, and all boltons, while the ls3 will probably max out at 550 rhwp (displacement limited) with same modding done. Its too early to state any concrete numbers but it is my prediction. I am sure LG Motorsports will be laying the FOUNDATION for our speculations. I expect good things in the near future.

The best thing about the LS3 based corvette is that you don't have to worry about the factory 500 hp rating that jacks up your insurance, and the zo6 is listed as the premium corvette which also jacks up your insurance. If I were in the market for a new corvette, I would have to strongly consider an LS3 with headers, cai, and a tune. After the warranty runs out the next stage of modding will begin.

Is there any information about the rear end strength of the new ls3 corvette?? Hopefully its not as weak as the c5's were. Need a good strong rear to handle all the power this motor is going to be making.

Nearly 485 rwhp and just over 440 rwtq with out having the factory tune reworked to maximize the potential of the fuel trims, timing, etc, etc. Like Lou said this car should make 500 rwhp after the tune is done and tinkered with. Like I said before this car should be able to make 550 rwhp with a good set of ported heads. The potential is scary.

Now for a few questions:
1. How much POWER is going to be made without having to upgrade to larger fuel injectors ??
2. How much POWER is the clutch able to withstand before it fails ??
3. How much POWER is the rearend going to be able to take without failing ??
Just asking a few questions to try and figure out what is going to need to be upgraded to compensate for all the new power the cam and boltons are adding.
Can't wait to see the numbers with the ported heads. We are all anxiously waiting.

If you want a convertable or Targa top, the modded LS3 is your best option.
