off-topic but how do you like the cam? Is it similar to stock is terms of idle, mpg, etc? I'm thinking about adding a cam but I want something that doesn't sound crazy.

Just get a small-medium cam and turn the idle down a little lower and you'll get the chop chop sound. I'd go w/ something in the low 230 range w/ 112 LSA.

Then again a 224 w/ a low idle sounds great as well. So you don't have to go too big to acheive a great sound. But super mean sounds would have to be high 230's-low 240's w/ a 110-111 LSA. But those cams usually surge pretty bad w/o a really nice tune. MPG goes down significantly, too.

I love the cam but I also asked for the mean sound of the lope. It definitely does not sound stock at all. You can feel the car rock a little while it idles especially when you have the AC or heater on. If you do not have the AC or heater on, the shake is hardly noticable. There are no issues with cam surge, starting, or raw gas smell in the cockpit. It has great drivability characteristics.

Here's a video with the lope sound:

Also, I did a cam (i.e. mot heads) since it was going to cost a little over $3K for a set of ARF's installed on top of what I had already plan to spend.

I did all my mods at once and the gas mileage went from 18.0 to 15.5 gpm around town. I do not have any numbers for a long highway trip.

thanks for the info. I just looked at my post and what I ment to say is that I'm looking for something that doesn't sound crazy. I'd like a little lope but nothing that rocks the car bad or sounds like I'm trying to wake up the world. Nothing that hurts drivability or MPG is a must too but I'd like some nice gains from it.

Based on your comments it sounds like I should be looking in something in the low-mid 220's with a 112/114 LSA. Am I on the right track?
