Default First track runs a little disappointed

I Finally got my car to the track. I know that my gears are killing me 2.73's. Here is my best time

Reaction .84
60 2.37
1/8 9.22
1/8 Mph 80.88
1/4 13.88
1/4 Mph 104.85

I was racing in Gulfport Ms not the best track ever and I just spun and wheel hopped through my 60. Mod's are in sig. I also have street tires.

What do you guys think I can do to get faster I am getting a LS6 Intake next week. I do not have the money for more mods right now and i go on deployment in a few months and then i will save up for a stall and gears thanks for your help.

drag radials would be a must if you are spinning that bad. with a stall you will spin even more.

Drag radials, some hoosier cheater slicks, thats what I put on mine. Make sure your the tire isnt too tall, you can get away with running something as small as a 235 or a 245 because of the compound of the cheater slicks (and there dot approved too). Gears would also, obviously help.

Get some 255 dr's thats the widest you can get on the stock wheel. It worked wonders for my car .

Your short time is killing ya. Get some drag tires and a 3500 or better stall and you have a shot at high 12's. Good luck.

I agree with everyone else....gets some DRs, I would also think about getting lower control arms and relocation brackets which will help your 60' too.

looks like you were hauling ***** after the 1/8th...you'd be doing great with a low 60ft which will bring everything else down too

Watch out when you get wheel hop. It will kill a rear quick.

wouldn't hurt to get some skinnies up front and lose the front sway bar..might as well get a tune after that intake is installed

Your rear will be fine with an auto. Tires first. Your car really came alive on the second half. A 9.22 1/8th mile is close to being a 14.30-14.40 1/4 mile time, so you made up a TON of ground of the second half. Get it out of the hole good and it will look something like this:

60 foot....1.90
1/8th......8.60
1/4.........13.20ish
mph........106

I don't think your car has a high 12 in it just yet. The stall will get you there though.

TIRES FIRST!!!!!

If you are getting wheel hope like crazy look into your torque arm mount. It is probably all wore out and you can replace them for around $20 with a poly unit. This helped my car out, also got rid of a banging noise when I shifted hard.

Get that 60' down into the 2.0 range, even on the street tires if you get decent track prep, and you'll be running low 13s at 105ish anyways. Drag radials might get you a 12 second pass.

Either the track prep is crummy or you've bald tires. Nothing wonderful here, but I usually get in the 1.9-2.0 range with 245mm Kumhos. Granted they had good tread, but drag radials may bog you down on those stock gears. I ran 13.4s at 104 when mine had nothing but a lid. You're trapping good enough for those times; even with that horrid 60.

I swapped to 3.73s and can't hook for **** on the street. If prep is right, the track might be another story. Sometimes I had to baby it at the strip and sometimes just knock a dent in the floor pan and dead hook.

Edit: I didn't read your mod list.. Then again, I've run anything from 12.9s to 13.8s with my headers. On balder tires in hot weather, it was in the mid to high 13s. I was pissed because I ran better before bolting them on. Get a good hook and see how she does. If it doesn't flirt with 12s, it ain't running right.
