I went with the Hurst Billet for the stops... cause you're right, the MGW does NOT have stops....

I've had my *** flamed over in the manual section for pointing this out about the MGW... oh well...

I brought up the same thing. They said that they were built into the shifter? Can that be? I was concerned about it.

If "they" is MGW, then they meant that the stops were built into the T56...

If you'll search for my thread in the manual section you'll see the concern I had and why I went with the Hurst Billet.

Bottom line is - you need a shifter with stops.

Thanks guys

Anyone?

depends on your rev limit, but theres a good chart/calculator around here somewhere. you might want to look into a 28" tire with those 4.30's.

i ran 4.56 with a 28in tire when i had my 6spd....so with your 4.30's go with a 28in et drag stiff wall .....the stiff wall tire will not distort as much and the sidewall will last longer

26.75" (26" + .75" growth) tire + 4.30 gears = 122 mph @ 6,600 rpm

The limiter is set at 7,000 and I will be shifting at 6,800.

So, I don't need a 28" tire.

Back to the original question - does anyone have experience with swapping from a 3.70 to a 4.30 with ET/MPH results?

Thanks

A higher power recommended the M&H for a stick car so that the sidewall WOULD take up most of the shock from cluch engagement...

Thanks though

you have good mph just not getting out of the hole quick enough, a 4.30 will help but itll be horrible on the street.

congrats

The 4.30 shouldn't be too bad since I have (2) overdrives.
4.30's will be fine on the street with an M6... I have 4.56's and would go to a 5.00 if I could fit a 30" tire under the car.

The short belt helps, but not as much as 1 or 2 tenths... maybe .08?

Also, disconecting the way bar will help, but if you have it disconected from the A-arms... why not just let out the other 4 bolts and take if off all together? Less weight on the front...

The width of the tire is not as beneficial as the sidewall of the tire IMHO. I wuold go to a 15x10 rim in order to get the proper width rim for a 11.5" wide tire, and to get some more sidewall under the car as well.

The LPE launch control or any 2-step would help... I hope... LOL I got one, but never tried it out aside for on the street next to my house, and even at 3000rpm the car did not hook on DR, but thats public roads for ya lol.
