Default Why is my car so SLOW!

Well, finally took it to the track today and got some numbers. First two passes were pretty identical.

60-2.0
1/4-14.0
MPH-98

Mods are in the sig, what could be making my car runs so slow? Temps were in the 60-70's, traction was not an issue it just doesnt make any power. FP is 62 at idle and only drops to about 59-60 during a run. Motor has 79k on it.

Put a stock tune back in it and it went 14.7 at 93, so its not in the tune.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Temp guage is working and have a 160 stat, fans are also programmed to come on sooner.

Have done the throttle body 90* check, and is opening all the way.

Here is the breakdown of the best slip;
RT .710
60' 2.029
330 5.924
1/8 9.079
mph 78.70
1/4 14.050
mph 98.78

Could my convertor be junk and slipping this much?

Not sure what the DA was, but it was at Firebird International in Maricopa AZ today.

As a reference there was a TA with a lid and a catback running 13.6.

I don't know the exact time you ran but your DA was roughly 3000-3700. That is not very good.

Corrected = 13.426 @ 103.304 MPH

Could be a bit faster.. But I don't think your times are that bad..

Pacesetter LT's ORY Magnaflow catback - will give more mph that ET.. you probably picked up 1/10th to 2/10ths
pcmforlesstune- obviously it helped.. but i am NOT a fan of them
315 Nitto's- your sixty was still a 2.0.. you shouldnt really need drag radials
LS6 intake- more mph than anything..

Get a converter.

I have seen someone turned there fans on for a run and lost alot of time. I don't remember numbers but it was .75 I think. Maybe with your fans set cool they are running and drawing amperage and messing with airflow.

whats the elevation there? its at sea level right? that seems weird, are you running better than you did stock, i mean a noticeable difference after the install of all your mods?

Done and done, when I got the car it was running crappy so I did plugs, cleaned filter and MAF, and put a fuel filter in it.. I was told that it might have clogged cats so thats when I put the LT's and ORY on. That was the first pass I made with the car, so I have no other baseline.

I still think that if a chick in a TA with a lid and a catback (and 140k) can pull of 13.6's I should be at least that fast!

the car is down on power, but moreso on the back half where it can stretch its legs. you're only gaining 20mph. you should be gaining at least 22-24. what rpm is the car shifting? any torque management changes?

and if that chick disappointed you...my wife went 13.4 @ 109 in a stock 99 m6 ws6 with a lid and flowmaster weld in haha. sucked for be me because it took headers and an ls6 intake in my 00 a4 car to trap that. but for some reason that ta picks up 25-27 mph on the backhalf. ******* freak.

Thanks youre doing a great job of making me feel better, LOL!

Torque mangement is disabled and was shifting right around 6k (just leaving it in drive)

well, with that being said. if at all possible, i'd have a live tune thrown on that car and go from there. let me reiterate...a live, GOOD, tune. i don't believe any mail-order tune is optimal. there isn't much to these cars. if the parts are installed correctly and the car isn't seeing any codes, it almost has to lie in the tune. a good live tuner can tell you what your trans is doing.

My GF's times are in sig.

And yes, I would look at the tune, when you first posted PCM I thought it would end up being the culprit.

my buddies formula with a lid, headers, and stock exhaust was running 13.20's at speedworld which is very similar DA.
