I never understood why GM put such a weak rear on those cars.

most of the 10 bolts that survive is in auto cars, also I think the higher mileage ones are better, broke in and have less internal resistance vs a fresh one.

Mines not anywhere near 9's but I went 12:38 on mine with slicks. I ran slicks on my 10bolt for about a year. It just keeps on going, I cut a 1.69 60ft on slicks with it and not a prob.

Not to high jack your thread but i see your running th400 with 10 bolt. did you have your stock driveshaft lengthed or did you buy one from a sponsor? I'm going th400 and want to use my 10 bolt with it and was wondering which way to go.

I went 10.08 on mine before it popped, my car was a pig though (3600 lb raceweight)... I'm sure there are tons that have been faster with lighter cars.

I was cutting consistent 1.50-1.52 short times on motor.. I'm cutting 1.47s-1.50s on motor now.. Haven't had any problems yet.. Race weight is 3550..

1.45 and below is when they usually go.. Anything over that they can handle for a while.... Usually.

Yeah my best pass was 1.50 60' 10.23@134mph with M6 342's in the stock 10bolt. I did break an axle and decided it was time for a 12bolt. It could get ugly if the rear locked up!@130+mph. Goodluck

My best 60' was a 1.42.... Run got shitty at about the 1000' mark and I had to get hard on the brakes (POS Honda I was racing had body parts FALLING OFF of it in my lane) and only went 10.7@100... Would have been a 9.XX pass.

I cut a hand full of 1.38-1.40 60fts on the stock untouched 3.23 10 bolt then a few spider gears chipped away...it is all in the 60ft that kills 10 bolts not the et...start getting in the 1.3s and it will let go...
