Default New best with my Trans am

I went to the track sunday with my trans am that has not been raced in a couple years . I built another car(64 Nova) so that i would not beat on this one anymore. THe last engine which was a stock ls1 shortbolck with ported ls1 heads with 2.02 , 1.55 valves and mildly ported (flow 262 int-220 exh) and an f13 cam went 11.38@121.3 mph in race trim with skinny's and 275x50x15 m/t drag radials with 1.59 60ft.

I now have a lq4 short block with same heads and swapped the f13 for an f14cam.
At 3850 with me in it On 315x35x17 Nittos the car went 11.32@121.39 with 1.665 60 . I was stoked, full street trim exept open cutout and a new best.

Awesome pass. What size gear are you running and what rpm are you launching at?

Yes m6 running 4.11 gears and I left at 5200 on that pass.my clutch is a spec stage 3+ and it's on it's last leg so it worked great with the nitto's . Did not shock them or bog, just left nice. I am going to tune it on the dyno at engine power systems Thursday and guessing around 460 at the wheels.
The ls1 block did 441/410 and this engine makes more mph.
I think tuning will gain a few but not much. I street tuned it with efi live.

My SS runs similar mph but no where close to your et. On my first ever 4k launch, my new Mcleod clutch let go . I figured my car should run around 11.3s with a decent launch, it's nice to see someone actually do it with similar mods. Now I have an idea what it's gonna take.

Do you have drag suspension? Your front end lifts pretty good at launch. Did you ride the clutch out or side step it?

Stock shocks, Lakewood lca's,bmr adjustable Tq arm and deleted front sway bar. As for launching, I left as hard as it would allow , my clutch slipped itself out. If that were a fresh spec 3+ it would hit the tires and I leave hard still but don't hot re gas until it hits the tires and just starts to bog. Then I floor it.

I forget the weight of them , They are Forgeline wheels, actually pretty light for 17's.
I think in race trim with light 15's and skinny's up front, slicks out back this car has 11.0's or so in it.
