Default 11.36@119 cam only!

I ran the car this past Friday at the local dragstrip. First pass was a 11.36@119 bouncing off the 2-3 limiter...I ran a second time and also had 2-3 issues and let off right before the finish line and ran a 11.4@111.

Here are the times:

Run 1:
60ft - 1.514
330 - 4.530
1/8 - 7.177 @ 92mph
1/4 - 11.369 @ 119.68

Run 2:
60ft - 1.577
330 - 4.594
1/8 - 7.230 @ 92.18
1/4 - 11.463 @ 111.89

According to dragtimes.com, it was 80.6 degrees F, 61% humidity, 29.61 in pressure. I used their calculator and DA that night was around 2300. According to the 1/8th mile on my first pass, I should've ended up at about a 11.1-11.2 had it not bounced off the rev limiter a few times. Any thoughts? Mods are in sig by the way. Raceweight was at approximately 3220.

great job Im right there w you but 3350 and 6spd..some people are tired of the cam only genre but I continue to be impressed at how these "old" lswons run w just a cam..I was running w new 5.0s on gas last night at the strip..cut a 7.20 @ 97 thru 4 gears..get off that limiter and you'll pick up a few tenths

havent experienced it myself but read recently if you manually shift or leave in d it seems to have 2/3 shift issues , leave it in OD

also read on a hard launching car people are running the pump dry in the trans and to overfill it 1/2 quart or so.

straighten out the shifting you will be 11.1/11.2 for sure

You're car has some good mph! You're right man, I am more than impressed with how both our cars are running. Hopefully I'll take care of it pretty soon and make some passes.

I leave it in OD, I keep hearing mixed things leaving it in D. I've tried overfilling the trans with fluid and no luck

I may try a deep pan and see how that works!

Some impressive times there OP, looks like I need some wieght reduction!! I recently read about the 2-3 shift problems but only had it happen on low 40* days when the trans temp was cold, maybe 3 times in 10 yrs.

Sounds like our cars are pretty similar man, all the way down to the weird 2-3 issue. My tune is on, my trans is built by one of the best, but on a hard launch that dead hooks it just doesn't like the 2-3 shift, no issues any other time.

You're 100lbs lighter than me, mind posting your weight reduction and your weight? I'm 150lbs, 3320 raceweight.

Thanks guys!

Tan, we definitely are very similar in times. My raceweight is approximately 3220 (I'm 220-225). All interior was stripped, except for the dash, door panels and center console. I run Hoosier tires all around with Weld RT-S wheels. I have a fiberglass hood that weighs about 15lbs or so and a 11lb battery that was on the car as well. All suspension pieces (k-member, u/l control arms, sfc etc.) consist of UMI components, except for those provided by MWC as i have one of their 9" setups. A/C has been removed. AIR/EGR have been removed as well. I'm sure I'm forgetting minor things but that pretty much sums it up.
