Default N2RacingLS1's Survives 280' Bumper Drag Video Inside

Updated 4/13/12 post #61

We went to Beech Bend in Bowling Green, KY Saturday November 20, 2010 and had a very good time.

1st pass off the trailer was a shake down pass, I ran a 10.774 ET at 124.34 MPH with a 1.444 60 foot in the right lane at 1:15 PM.

2nd pass after some suspension adjustments I ran a 10.628 ET at 125.20 MPH with a 1.408 60 foot right lane at 2:45 PM.

3rd pass coming right back to the staging lanes ran a 10.677 ET at 125.08 MPH with a 1.444 60 foot left lane at 2:53 PM.

Then I put the 125 HP Nitrous tune in the car and the jets and had some big time wheels up action!

4th pass I adjusted the suspension for the nitrous setup and went 9.953 ET at 133.12 MPH with 1.332 60 foot right lane at 3:55 PM. Video attached! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Hr-wRzOl4

5th pass I tightened the front shocks two more clicks and went 9.964 ET at 132.91 MPH with a 1.427 60 foot right lane at 4:26 PM. Video attached! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IraZB7u9-IY The most interesting number is the 1.427 60 foot time because that appears to be on the back tire instead of the front tire!!

Enjoy the videos!

Badass man I always enjoy watching your vids, does the car still drive straight after all of those launches?

Thanks casper, the car is working good for sure. It drives like it is on a rail going down the track!!

DBN you are correct it was a fun day for sure! Now we just need to fine tune the setup a little more and see what it will do with a 175 shot going through it!! I knew you would like the video once you got to see it! You car is working great now!!

Thanks Carter, we are hoping to come down to SGMP third weekend in December can you make it out for some fun and another crack at getting your 9 second slip?

Chris, I had made some changes since the last time racing and thought we had it tighten down correctly but you know how it goes just when you think the game plan is set the track works better or the car / tire wants to really show what it can do and the next thing you know you are looking at blue sky and hoping it is going to come down straight.

On the first nitrous pass I had the limiters set where I usually run them for nitrous and the shocks 2 clicks tight from full loose. On the second pass I tightened the shocks 2 more clicks for a total of 4 clicks and the car went even higher. I got a couple of ideas to see if I can get it to calm down. Hopefully I will not pull your trick and drag the back bumper.

I just wish I could get my car down to your race weight. I have worked very hard to get it down to 3,300 lbs. So I guess it is doing pretty good for what it is!

Anyway thanks everyone for the props. We have worked very hard on this engine / car combo and are pretty happy!

The car does real good for what it is at 3,300 lbs. I have a few more ideas maybe we can get it into .80's on the same shot and keep it on the ground!

Carter01

Are you in for SGMP on the 11th? I said earlier the 3rd weekend but it is actually the 2nd weekend!!

Your 60 ft was definatly on the rear tires, and would of been a high 1.20 or low 1.30. I would tighten up your limmiters to keep the front end from coming up no higher than a 1 foot wheelstand. The 60 ft will show up in the high 1.20s like Chris1313's did.

I noticed Chris had trouble as well keeping the front end down! Just when you think you have everything figured out the car decides to show you what it really can do. I have a few more ideas and am working on tuning the suspension a little more.

Even with the limiters only allowing 3 inches of travel and the shocks tightened 4 clicks it still wanted to show off! I think I have it figured out now looking for some .80's next time out!

Take a look at the timeslips and let me know what you think!!

yeah, I'm off work and it looks like it is a go. Only problem with the 11th is the Lightning guys are putting together a meet that day as well. They are talking about bringing some smoke blowers as well. I'm not too worried about the crowd, just the track prep. If the off road diesels guys start leaving hard and dropping dirt I don't know if they will be able to recover the track well enough on just a basic T&T day. Either way i will probably go, if you guys are coming down I will make it a point to be there.

Oh, FYI. The worst DA we had on the 11th of December last year at the track was -1195. You will go .80s if we get the same weather this year....

Mid 30's all next week in Tennessee! Hopefully that -1,600 DA will be in effect further south at SGMP park on the 11th!

Now if I can just get someone to set on the front of the car at launch we can have some fun!!! Who all plans on coming?

I haven't heard from anyone really. I did reach out to Talley Trans (10.5, 6sp, SSB turbo car) and he might come. Looks like it's going to be just us battling it out against the Lighting boys all day I also talked to Hardcore (10.30 GTO) but he has to work. I guess we'll see soon, oh and bring that neg -1600 with you

Sounds great, I remember meeting Hardcore the one and only time I got to visit SGMP. Hopefully we can get a few more. I know as of now DBN and I for sure will be coming but like you we are talking to a few more folks.

It is going to be fun and just maybe we will see some - DA's if not we have fun anyway!!
