Default Best Trap Speed w/Stock Ex Manifolds

I'm trying to figure out the limits of the stock exhaust manifold & cats. Can you please post your best trap speed when you used the stock manifolds & cats? I'm especially interested in the '00-'02 manifolds and A4 trap speeds. But earlier manifolds & M6 speeds would also be useful. So, please post. Thanks!

My 01 Z (m6) with a TSP lid, SLP y-pipe, loudmouth, and a predator went 111.6 with stock manifolds/cats.

My 00 SS (m6, no LS6 intake like my 01) has only gone a best of 108.6 with TSP lid and GMMG catback.

I went 122 mph with stock '00 manifolds, cats and cutout. My car was an A4. Running a .073 nitrous jet helped it some too.

No trap speed, but I remember someone with a small cam/heads and stock manifolds getting right near 400 at the wheels.

If that gives you any indication.

You and I must be the only ones with good MPH without the "gutted cats" or "cutout" or "crate engine"

I'll add that besides the lid, ypipe, loudmouth, and predator, I also had almost 90K miles

So I say we go with this question:

Who has the highest trap with FACTORY Engine (intake, heads, cam, block) and no mods from the cats to the manifolds - WITH NO POWER ADDER!

So mods allowed:
Lid/Filter/FRA or SSRA or the like
y pipe and catback
throttle body
pulley
tune or programmer
gears and suspension (probably won't help out mph though)

109.00 MPH with just a Stealth airlid, Thunder Racing MAF ends, Hooker catback and Pro 5.0 shifter. Completely stock tuning and EVERYTHING else. Car is a 98 M6 and had ~25k miles at the time with a fresh set of plugs and wires. FULL weight w/ 275 lbs driver and even the jack and spare in the trunk.

P.S.-Oh, I did cut off the EGR thing that sticks down by the throttle body too.

My 2001 Formula M6 trapped at 110 with my only mods being a lid, cutout, FRA. Not bad for $150 in mods.

Is this what the original poster asked?

I believe he wanted to know the LIMITs of the stock exhaust set-up.You certainly aren't reaching them with the mods you've listed.

There was no exclusion of power adders or cams/heads as far as I could tell.

You listed a pulley as an acceptable mod? This has zero to do with the exhaust flow and is doing nothing to answer this guys question. You're killing me here...

If you want to make yourself feel good about trapping 111 w/your listed mods you should probably make your own thread instead of hi-jacking this guys..

Thank you for all of your replies so far! So I'm getting the feel that 108-111 is the general average range for the stock manifolds & cats. I'd like to get enough info to be able to see a distinction between A4s & M6s. So please continue posting! Thanks

I would, but i'm too lazy.

What's wrong with the mods I listed? What does the pulley have to do with exhaust? Nothing. Did I say it did? Nope. The question was "What's the highest mph through stock manifolds?" Last time I checked you didn't have to mess with the manifolds to throw a pulley on - but since you pointed out it has nothing to do with the exhaust, this is a no brainer.

So if a pulley isn't, then how is your nitrous? Are you going to tout that as "well, more air goes in, so more exhaust needs to go out"? Well, if a pulley is there to let the engine spin "free-er", then wouldn't it be bringing more air in and needing to expell more exhaust as well?

Maybe i'm just totally going off course - or maybe I just want to know who has a higher trap than my old Z - with the limited mods

Now YOU'RE killing me here

111.03 mph in an A4 through stock manifolds (including stock LS1 intake) and cats, stock internals.

In a 02 stripper 6-speed Z I went 13.261 at 109.23 with a 2.28 60'. I n the same car I went 8.411 at 87.98 with a 2.04 60'. Mods were FRA and K&N and hurst billet. Another question you might ask is if anyone has done any flow bench comparisons to the Fbody and Corvette ZO6 manifolds, that might be informative.

In the hot summer night of humid july in memphis, I ran a 12.48 @ 114mph. M6, 99, free mods, SLP lid, Cutout (after the cats) and a 125 shot. I think it had 117mph in it in cool weather. Temps were 85* and 95% humidity at 12:30am.

Plus my car weighs a lot.
