Default Guys w/manuals and MT radials post up pls!

I'll be getting my 9" w/spool and 4.33's in the car this weekend. I had made up my mind to run the M/T radial 275/60-15's as all I had ever heard were great things about them hooking like a slick(relatively), but being streetable(to the track and home).
Then I saw the post by Aint Skeered (time to throw rocks at the M/T radial) where he was saying they don't hook good for him. Several other M6 peeps said the same in that thread. It looks like they work great for autos, but are not hooking as well for manuals.

If you have a M6 pls. post opinions, 60'(with M/T's and others) and anything else that may help me or others decide for, or against them.
Thanks!!

I don't have an LS1 anymore, but I do have an M6.

I got a 1.6 60 ft. and many low 1.7s Saturday on an IRS equipped, full-weight '04 Cobra with no suspension mods. You won't be disappointed with this tire!

My $0.02.

Dont get me wrong, They hook like glue on the street. At the track they are very sticky but I think I may be doing to much of a burn out. I have pulled a 1.59and many 1.6's when it was cold but now that it is warming up , I may doing to much burnout. I will post more times when I get my clutch fixxed.

That's cool they hook that good on the street, let us know when you get your clutch fixed.
Didn't mean to say "they suck" at all, just wanted to see many people's results to see if most w/M6's are pleased or if the results are spotty. The 1.6 w/ IRS sounds pretty good!
I don't have massive power(yet?) but will be spraying a 125 shot or so, w/4.33's. I just want to hook! I'm used to bogging my way to 1.9-2.0's So I'm ready to actually launch
Thanks for the input!

In my weekend warrior they are stellar on the street but I have not been real happy at the track.I get pretty bad spin but after reading a few posts I may raise pressure from 17 to 22 and tone down the burnout.I used the old nitto shuffle to get high 1.7's,a sort of controlled dump and hammer.

I ran an 11.5@122 in 2800 feet DA in my friends formula on MT ET street radials.

That was only a 1.82 sixty.

I had a good pass going on a 1.74 sixty (better sixty and 330 foot by almost a tenth and then hit 5th instead of third! DOH!!

Would have been high 11.3's or low 11.40s

I've only got 2nd hand experience, but a friend had 275 50 15" and wasn't having much luck. was getting bad wheel hop also. suspension is probably a big part to getting them to hook

That's what I like hearing!! Especially that they were hooking on spray!

Thanks for the replies guys!

I had some wheel hop on the launch. The best I could get was a 1.9 but I am just a beginner to serious drag racing. My ET was 12.6. I know I could improve to maybe 1.7ish if I just try a couple different techniques. I was just dumping it at 4500 rpm. BTW the car is REALLY solid on the top end shifts with zero wiggle associated with slicks.

My set-up:
350rwhp LT1 WS6 (3750lbs)
9-inch with 4.30s
Twin Disk Clutch
All suspension mods except for shocks
26x11.5 MT Radials

for you guys that are having trouble making them hook, i suggest trying 9lbs (cold) and a pretty big burnout. seems to work awesome, just give it a shot.

I don't think I've ever heard someone saying BMP doesn't hook

I know a friend's 95 383 stroker lt1 has ripped a 1.59 60 foot time on a 3400 stall 10" convertor with a 3.73 geared 10 bolt rear on these tires (275/60/15 size on 8" rim) at Gainesville this year. I'm thinking about a set sometime soon for my street treads, as the bracket racing will still demand et streets or possibly full slicks next.
