The Wait Is Over......the First All Motor Ls1 In The 8's
well like the topic says...the WAIT is officially over......today at US41 AFTER the MFBA SHOOTOUT.... my firehawk broke the 8 second barrier.....on motor.....which i believe would make it the first ls1 in the 8's....
well the best pass during the mfba track rental was a 9.004....which just made it impossible to call it a night...so we waited until the t&t session started tonight to set the new all motor record.....and in the process set the record for a 60 ft. off the foorbrake at 1.237 but that run only ended at a 9.113 @149.17
the best time during the mfba track rental.....
60 ft. 1.266
330 ft. 3.700
1/8 ET 5.738
1/8 MPH 120.69
1000 FT 7.502
1/4 ET 9.004
1/4 MPH 149.42
well after waiting over 2 hours for the T&T session to start here are the numbers that i have been after for the last 8 months......
here is a break down off the 2 8 sec passes....
60 ft. 1.274
330 ft. 3.691
1/8 ET 5.715
1/8 MPH 121.02
1000 FT 7.476
1/4 ET 8.971
1/4 MPH 150.55
and hereis the second 8 sec back up pass to the record thats EVEN faster....
60 ft. 1.26
330 ft. 3.672
1/8 ET 5.695
1/8 MPH 121.27
1000 FT 7.454
1/4 ET 8.951
1/4 MPH 149.92
i wanted to thanks W2W ( kurt, billy, rich, and the rest of the crew for building me A VERY POWERFUL LS1 ), BILLINGSLEY RACING ( JAY AND AMBER......i dont think that the car would have ran the number tonight if i hadnt been for you guys...you guys have the suspension on these cars down to a science.....i appreaciate it A LOT.....),
BEHIND BARS RACE CARS ( CHRIS "NOODLES".... for all the time you took to minitub and cage the car even though i just through the car at ya, and for all the little loose ends you have tightened up for me over the past 2 weeks.......you gave the little extra push we needed to get it done....)
and i also have to thanks all of my friends who gave me a hand in gettign the car to work at the track.....jason, john, nick, and sean (juggs)....YOU WERE ALL HUGE in the quest to go 8's on motor with a ls1

Looks like you guys did it. I am happy that you were able to raise the bar. I hope that you run it in the tech series. It will give some other guys *Wink*Wink* something to shoot for. Congradulations.

Congrats Tom and John for being the first to break down the 8 second barrier!!! For those that have never seen the car, let me say it really is amazing. I cant wait to see what happens when that monster comes off the brake!!!!
