C6Z06 Bone-Stock on Stock Tires--11.34 at 127.13
#42
I understand what you are doing and everything, and I respect that greatly- I think it's totally awesome.
But... I'm not sure why people would consider it BONE STOCK... it would be like putting an LS7 in a firebird and calling it stock. I'd rather people say without modification or stock VETTE.
Maybe I'm just in a bad mood right now. I don't know...

And it's run 11.34/127 bone stock as from the factory literally except 1/2 tank of gas and stock rear tires aired down by 2 or 3 psi. Quicker still on DRs. Plus it will go 198 mph; faster still if you fold in the outside mirrors.
In my book that is a fast factory, bone-stock car. And a lot more quiet and comfortable than modded cars of equivalent straight-line performance.
Also keep in mind, my driving it's dialed-in yet. Should be able to shed another few tenths and add one mph. Bone-stock.

Truly an AMAZING accomplishment! Its so great to see these numbers come out, ive been waiting for them. The best time ive seen from Motor Trend is 11.5, forgot the speed though. I knew there was more left in it!

Thanks for all the kind comments, gents.
I've attached a thumb of a spreadsheet that compares the splits of my current best pass in the C6Z to my best pass in my 2002 Z06, both were on stock tires at DAs of about (positive) 100 feet.

Sunday, April 9th, I dropped the bone stock on stock tires PR to 11.31 at 127.52.
Weather was favorable. DA at the time of my second pass was a positive 300 feet. Track prep was good and benefited from full sun. Surface temp was 95 degrees, even though the air temp was just mid-50s.
Unfortunately I was unable to grab a decent launch. The car wanted to dead hook. First pass the 60' was 1.93 with a bog at a launch rpm of 2900. But I redeemed it with very good shift points and speeds for a 11.380 @ 127.53.
Second pass I dead hooked the 3200 rpm launch and TM reared its head. The 60' was lacking but I was pretty much a machine the rest of the pass. The 60-1320' was 9.408, my fastest in this car even on DRs.
The splits on the second pass were.
60'........1.902
330'......4.993
660'......7.451 @ 100.69
1000'.....9.538
1320'...11.310 @ 127.52
Running 11.31 on a 1.90 60' indicates the car can shed another tenth or so with a better launch.
Track officials gave me a warning after the first pass and the boot after the 2d.
From the 60' on I'm pretty well dialed in, but I need a couple track rentals to work on a launch technique that may evade TM.
FWIW, h2o temp at the line was 185-190 and I set the stock rears to 27 psi and saw no wheel hop. Fronts were at 40 psi.
Best to all,
Ranger
