Default 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile conversion.

Hey guy's I ran a 6.70 at 101.71 in the eighth today. Since I don't have a rollbar, I had to shut it off early.

My previous best 1/8th was 6.80 at 102.35 and I went 10.61 in the 1/4.
(that was in better air)

Does anybody know where I can find that calculator that tells you what your 1/4 mile would have been? (give or take, they use it a lot in the south)

I think it would have been a low 10.50's or high 10 40's?

If you know please link.

Thanks

Default 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile conversion.

I don't know of a link to a calculator but a 6.70 in the 1/8 is approximately 10.52-10.55 in the 1/4.

There's no one conversion that works for every car but since you've got a whole pass already, you have a conversion that works for you.

10.61/6.80x6.70 will give you a pretty close idea. That prediction will be a tad on the quick side because of the reduced MPH on your 6.70 pass but it should get you within .05. My best guess would probably be a 10.50 give or take a couple of hundredths.

Thanks guy's.

I know the NHRA has a calculator/formula that they can work out, but I can't find it. I looked for it in my latest copy of National Dragster?

I remember seeing one online that asked for a lot of data like: weight of the car, tire dia, rear gear ratio, trans gear ratios, 60', 1/8th mile et, 1/8th mile MPH etc.

The guy's in the south always use it.
(I just have to find a southern boy in here)

We use 1.57 X your 1/8 mile time.

NHRA uses (1.6) x (1/8 mile ET) to approximate 1/4 mile ET.

Here is a slip close to yours

6.719 @ 103.62
10.49 @ 129.05

little bit more mph than you so you should be close.

My car uses 1.578 x 1/8 mile ET = 1/4 ET.

Here are a few of good calculators.

Thank you very much guy's, I knew the info was out there.

I have had better MPH before, in the eighth, but this was, what it was.

I never locked the converter on Sat. because I was only running the 1/8th mile. When I do run the 1/4 and lock the converter in 3rd 1:1 the car really starts to haul. It just surges and picks up all kind of MPH.

I think I would have cleared 130 MPH no problem.

Thanks Again.

Well yeah......that's kind of a given. Unless your track throws out spike strips after the 1/8th

I'm in the same boat. I need a roll bar pretty bad. I'm going out, paying the entry, making one pass, and getting yelled at. I should have one by fall.

Wait, wouldn't the real man be the one who goes fast without the protection of a roll bar in the car, living on the edge and all of that?

Like when I ran 9.4's at close to 150mph in a car with a 4point bar, and I could barely see over the hood?
