Question Ran my H/C LS1 for the first time. 1/8 mile. MPH low for mods?

Temp was about 45 degrees. We are at about sea level here in Detroit.

Mods are in sig.

My 2 good passes

Run 1:
1.79 60'
7.8 @ 87

Run 2:
1.82 60'
7.9 @ 87

No front sway bar. Tires are 315/35/17 NITTOS @ 15 PSI... Little spin

Is my 1/8 mile MPH low for my mods?

Thanks

I'd say so... my car w/ only bolt ons in the summer went 7.81 @ 88.5 in the 1/8 - that was a 12.2 pass at nearly 112 MPH on the big end. My 60's weren't much faster than yours either.

Is the car tuned? What kind of #'s did it lay down on the dyno?

I think your mph is off.
I had a cam only '98 Z-TSP 225 on 114, w/ a YANK 3200, 3.23s & it went 7.90 @ 89-90 in the 1/8.
My h/c mph is 93+.

Your 60' times need to come down to improve on that ET. My heads/cam 02 Z-28 went 7.34 in the 1/8th with a 1.59 60' time. That big tire doesn't do you any favors in the 60' department. I'm running an A4 with 3.73 gears through a Moser 12 Bolt. 27" Tall Hoosier Quick Time Pros with a PT4000 Yank Converter. Reduce your tire size and do some suspension mods like QA1Shocks, Aftermarket Torque Arm and Lower Control Arms.

I hope it is my tune that is holding me back.....

My tuner has programed my car like 4 or 5 times... Only in the driveway. No data loging or A/F tuning has been performed yet. I mean car gets decent gas mileage and I drove it 1 hour to and from the track.

dkrvpro - the car does have aftermarket LCA's and brackets.

ouch...90 in the 1/4 huh? Might wanna do a leak down on the motor..haha. I know i know, you meant the 1/8. Just messin with you man!

My car goes consistent 98mph in the 1/8 H/C, but mine used to run 93 with the exact same setup. All in building the car around the motor.

Get the car on the dyno, see if the motor is running ok. No knock, A/f is good, and timing is good. Make sure the power is there. Then look into the weight on the car, as well as shift points if it's an auto
