a stock vega is not a bolt in, AFAIK. the flaming river "vega kit" will bolt into a 3rd gen but its not worth the 600 bucks!!!
a manual box from an 84 and newer s10 is a DIRECt bolt in using the camaro pitman arm.

if you want to save weight, go with a pinto rack kit. if you can fabricate, or weld, its a fairly easy swap.
i got rid of my manual s10 box and all steering linkage. saved 52.5 pounds. if you have power steering youll save even more. the pinto rack turns easier than a s10 box as well.
good luck.

The s-10 gear box is a direct bolt-on, but you do not get the accessories with it. You would also need to get another pitman arm, needle bearing u-joint and shaft adapter.

We can get you a brand new manual gear box from Flaming River. The price is $557 (plus shipping). Box weighs 12 lbs, comes with the correct pitman arm, needle bearing u-joint, and a shaft adapter. If you have any questions, or would like to place an order with us, please call us at the shop. Shop phone number is 225-673-3533. Thanks
Steve

The S-10 will need a different pitman arm also, plus you need the adaptor u-joint($65.00)

I'm wondering the same thing. I've changed several and only changed the pitman arm.
