im going to do this to my car is there a part number for a master cyl. that i could get at a parts store and make my own mounting plate. has anyone done this. or has anyone done this with the stock master cyl. any advise would be help full.

I made my own kit. I used a wilwood tandem master cylinder with part # 260-4894 that I purchased on ebay. I believe it is supposed to fit a chrysler, but I was able to fab it up without too much difficulty.

a LOT of dragracers use an 89 dodge caravan master. its only 30 bucks from the parts store.
not sure on the bore size.

To me it was worth the $140 to but the complete kit from Eric at Midwest Chassis. It uses the Strange 1.25" bore master, which is like $120 from Jegs, so getting the complete kit is a pretty good bargain.

pmbmax, do you have to make an adapter plate for the chyrsler manual mc? im wanting to do a manual brake setup aswell.. my only concern is finding the correct bore size. I have aerospace drag brakes all around. any idea on what bore size would be correct for a swap like this? i noticed the wildwood one above is 1.0625 or 1-1/16" if that would work and all i have to do is figure out how to mount it, that'd be great

Yes you will have to make a plate and i had aerospace on my car befor i put the sathuff spindles . I have wilwood on it now but did not chane the M/C . do you have the booster off yet. The hole and bolt spread is big that is why you have to use the plate. also the hole in the brake pedal is metric so you will have to drill it out if you use a clevis . Its been a while sense i did one .

yes i have the engine bay completely stripped down to nothing right now, and i figure i will be able to make a plate to bolt the master to the firewall, but wasnt sure if theres a specific thickness needed, and as far as the pedal goes, that shouldnt be a problem, i have to pull the pedals out anyways, i used to have an m6 and still got the clutch pedal, so i should probably switch to an auto pedal set while im at it. i guess the next main question at hand would be is there a specific thickness needed in an adapter plate to maintain correct geometry, and the bore size on the chrysler is correct?

The chevy S10 master cylinder is a nice option, plus you don't have to worry about the rod falling out and having no brakes.
