what kind of et's do you plan on running with a car like this, must be in the 7's or 8's. The build looks good though, I wish i had the skills to do that myself.

im not downing your build at all, i think its awesome. a couple years ago i thought SBC's were the best small block everrrrr.

but can an SBC really make 1000+hp on motor?

and are you really being different with a regular small block chevy?

again, not trying to be an ***, just stating my point of view.

im plannin on mid to low 9s and s bc 1000 hp on motor would be hard but with a lot of money it can be with like 12 degree heads fully ported, and a lot of damn money lol if i was shooting that high id say **** it and do the big block. im doin the sbc now and i might switch to a bbc later down the line or mayb a procharged sbc.

wow! Im not bashing eather but stock style suspension has been into the 7's. Why hack up a car with a proven type of suspension? Gonna be a killer car when done i just always ask why?

i like being different and im a big fan of a BIG tire behind our cars. i wanted a challenge too with doing a stock style suspension most of it is bolt on, i wanted to fab everything up.

That's what I was thinking, I run mid 9's with bolt on stuff but you're not gonna run 7's N/a with the stock style suspension. Turbo yes but not N/a.
Gives alot of room to grow and go faster that's for sure-suspension will not hold the car back when big power gets put to it.

yea as fo right now im shootin for mid 9s, but eventually ill either switch to a big block or procharge the sbc and shoot for 7s so im building the car for that now. and im doing bolt on front suspension but maybe eventually ill do a strut tubular front clip just for weight but that would be down the line. on a little side note i have a pair of nitto dr's off of this car just sitting around there kind of worn if anyone wants them you can have them i just want a set of tires to replace them.

looks good!

i think your going the right direction! just run your dash bars a little more forward and add a cross bar. also if your going funny car cage? make your top bars as tight to the curve of the roof line as possible. for helmet clearance.

heres my cage!

and yes it's a old school bbc!

i got my halo up as far as i can on the main hoop and it looks like my helmet might hit, unless i angle it in on the back. but the funny car cage bars i can put up higher and closer to the roof to give me more room.

the halo part is ok! it's the top bars of the funny car cage above your head, that need to be as close to the roof (t-tops) as possible. i put mine straight and it's about a 1" clearance with my helmet on. i should have bowed them up a little.

it's a custom kit on the back halve. all round tube from the subframe back. it was built for a 10.5w tire.

pics of the underside before and after paint. a little hard to see! but you can make out the basic design.

i was saying if you move the front bars, closer to the front window and have them contour to the window pillars. it will look cleaner and allow to cut the factory dash to fit easier.

it will also make it easier to get in and out of the car. and at 220! i need as much room as possible!
