sorta confused on the coilover setups. if i switched to coilovers, would the coilover eliminate the spring in the stock location in the rear?

thats what i figured. plan on removing my konis and springs for a coilover setup. my car has 1" lowering springs. could i still keep the car lowered an inch with coilovers?

heyfred, noticed u didnt have a rear swaybar. heard u can remove the rear swaybar if right, spring/shock is stiff enough to not let the body sag down on the right side when the chassis tries to twist to the right
this true?
think im going to go with QA1 double adjustables since they are good streetability for the streets as well

You can run without the rear bar, but it will take more setup time. I am going to run a rear bar on my 9" setup when I get it. After talking with several people on the board, the rear bar helps to makes the car launch straight.

My car is not going to be a strip car only. I want to be able to drive at anytime.

ill check into that. trying to shave as much weight as possible before spring
ive noticed alot of the rear drag brake setups are 4 piston rear calipers instead of 2 piston rears like stock
are most of the rear drag brake setups 2 piston setups???

1) most of the rear drag setups are 4 piston, due to the average weight of a car. the 2 piston brakes are for the front of cars that are under 2600 pounds.
2) why run QA1s? Strange is a better shock and believe it or not is less cost. by far the best bang for the buck. AFCO shocks are one of the best on the market for drag shocks, but also in the higher price range. the average user with a street/strip car performs fine with Strange shocks.
3) the AFCO shock setup in the above pictures is what i set him up with. the ride height is adjustable, you lose the stock heavy spring, and the shocks are externally adjustable for valving control.
4) i offer all the Strange shocks and brake components you need. i also have a Strange front brake kit that uses the factory spindles and hubs, and is far less cost than the normal kit.
pm me for details

ya im going strange coilovers instead. heard some people having problems with the QA1s. i would go with AFCO, but its not in my budget
also, what are you guys opinion on drag brakes on a car that rarely sees the streets but as a fair weather/occasion type thing?
heard rotors on a drag brake kit can warp frm getting hot frm stop and go traffic

^^^ this is partially true, but it all depends on how you drive the car. the rotors on the race kits are relatively thin and would be subject to warpage if abused. i run the Strange race brakes all the way around on my own car and have other customers with them as well, its just a user thing... you have to understand that the brakes were not designed for stop and go traffic. maintenance may be required and there is never any type of warranty with this application. not that it can't be done, but you have to understand the big picture.
