15x8 or 15x10 prostars for a M6 car

i run 275/50/15's on 15x10's i bought them for "just in case" i want to ever go with a bigger tire... therefore its only 4lbs for the possibility to run any tire i ever want to.... u never know what may happen... 5 to 10 years down the road im hoping to be running 9's or so and hopefully i will still be running these rims

Why not just buy summit wheels over prostars? Its only a 4lb diff over the prostars. Same argument.
I also think a 275/50 or 60 will leave the same foot print on either rim. I like the 50s because it has a wider tread and is a 26 in tire for my set up.

Again if you could run a 1.2 60ft on a 275 DR, why the hell would you need bigger tires?[/quote]
You aren't going to get anywhere close to a 1.2 60" with a M6 on Drag Radials... Automatics work great with Drag Radials, you will be better off with a Bias Slick for the M6.

Another point to make is some cars are street cars that go to the track occasionally and there are drag cars that may go on the set occasionally. If I had a race car that we light enough and had the correct suspension to make a 275 DR work, then thats fine but the majority would be better off on a Bias Ply and then a 15 x 10" rim ultimately will work better for contact patch reasons and the cushioning effect.

AC i def see ur point, and i almost traded my set of 15x10 for a set of 15x8's just fro that reason.... weight (bolt on only record attempt) but then i heard from a few members 275/50/15 et street radials look better on the 15x10 and i realized if i ever wanted to up my tire size i would have the option... but hey to each there own!
YAY!

Exactly. Given the same size tire, the 15x10 will put more of it on the ground. I have 15x8s and if I were to do again (which I may) I'd go 15x10.
