Default Acknowledgement to Drag Racing Wives and Girlfriends!

This is a e-mail from my wife that I think should be read by everyone that has a female in their drag racing life.

Hey, I'm gonna tell you something right now. With as much as the WIVES of
you drag racers contribute, there better be some public acknowledgement!!
The support, the running of the weather station, the getting the water and
Gatorade, and the sitting and standing around and walking back and forth in
108 degree heat with no rewards like the fun of driving the car is in and of
itself at least noteworthy! Get your priorities straight and know where the
thanks and return support should go!

Please love your female drag racing supporter and give her credit when credit is do!

Coach

LOL....... I don't think I have ever had but one girl to ever go to the track with me and it rained us out when we pulled in the pits! LOL

I think I give more credit to some girls for helping the husbands and boyfreinds than they do.

My wife finally went out with me for the first time to the track at the end of Sept. We talked about her & the kids going to the Shootout, but I think 4 days of cars would just about kill her. But hopefully she'll start going more often.

I'm very glad she tolerates my habits. And she doesn't look at my credit card to see all those charges to Baton Rouge. I spend far, far more time working on / for my cars, than I do driving them tho. And she tolerates that too.

my girlfriend of 3 years puts up with it rather well, goes to the track with us..makes and effort to learn about racing and ls1's.

she only gets mad if i don't balance my time with her and with my car i.e-spend 5 nites in a row in the garage or something and don't spend time with her.

Man, this is the worst case of "I am in the doghouse ***-kissing" I have ever seen....... J/k

I think that we do not tell our significant others enough how much we appreciate their support..... But my wife does not read the board, so it does me no good to say anything here....

I always let my wife know it is appreciated for all the bs she puts up with in my life. Car shows, cruises, races 25-30 times a year, trip to pomona...
Hopefully the bit I'll have in National Dragster in a few weeks will have a decent picture of her

Ditto , but now she's my wife.

Though I think I have given her the bug, "I want a car with *****!!" ....."hey how fast are those new cobras"

I'm lucky to have a GF that loves racing and doesn't mind me blowing money on my motor instead of her diamond ring.

well i am "the wife" but I would like to say THANKS to my husband for everything he has done to get my car to where it is today. I would be nothing without him. He pays the note on my car that he only gets to drive occasionally and at the track :p and is the best (and sexiest) mechanic I could ever ask for. Him (and I) have done pretty much all the work on my car including the 6 converter changes and we both love it. He is a great husband and a wonderful father, I couldn't ask for anything more.

I love ya babe

My wife is awesome, she puts up with far much more than she should, from my 3+ hours a day on the internet, to the thousands of dollars that I have spent, to the help while working on my car when I needed an extra set of hands (How many wives would help me seperate a y pipe from the headers as soon as she got back from getting her nails done . Come to think of it, she wasn't too happy about that one ). She has helped and supported me from day one, and I am lucky to have her. (Of course, I think she's in it for the car

Like Mike above....mine doesn't go to the track much, but sure is pretty understanding with all the dough I blow on the car. She's a pretty good little gal. Been married almost 20 years now.

Wink

I sure hope this helps my wife feel a little better. We have a couple of big races in the next couple of weeks and I need her help.

I sure do like her to be at the track with me.

She does read this site and I want to wish her good luck tonight as her volleyball team goes for the district championship tonight! Kick some major butt tonight baby!

whats a good way to teach your wife(or gf) to drag? my wife wants to learn, but i dont think they let you co-pilot with 13.99 or faster at the track?

she's all bout wanting to drive the ls1.. she's got a 2002 330ci so i dont mind switching up for some pimp car action.

dont wan't her to kill herself with the car (once the verter/cam/intake/headers/gears go in). would an 1/8th mile be a better place to teach ma lady to drive?
