Default Super Victor LS1 intake/408ci Direct Port Nitrous NEW PICS

NOW WITH INSTALL PICS

UPDATE: Motor is in and the Super Victor LS1 fit's under the cowl with a low profile Edlebrock elbow. The lower layer of metal on the cowl had to be trimmed away, the hood trimmed and the silenoids and hard lines manipulated. Everything clears and motor mounts welded solid to minimize movement. 2nd round of new pics added. Thanks for looking

Has anyone done this yet? I am but found I need to do alot of cutting not only for the elbow but for the nitrous plumbing and silenoids. It appears we may even have to cut the cowl far enough left and right that I may loose my passenger windshield wiper. In addition the underside of the hood is going to require cutting too. Even the rear nitrous plumbing lines hit the cowl. Nitrous silenoids and lines are being adjusted downward. When the intake was plumbed we didn't have the car to trial fit.

Would like to know if anyone has been through this yet in their 4th gen?

Also where are you guys tapping in for the brake boost and air conditioning vacumn lines?

The silenoids in the pic have been turned on their sides but still way too tall to clear the cowl.

You could put some 90* 1/8" NPT male fittings on the nitrous solenoids and point them toward the elbow, that would help with clearance a bit.

I did that and ofcourse it helped, but still way tall. I will get some pics up soon. I'm thinking I will just have to cut alot more than originally anticipated.

You're gonna find out that the elbow that you have on there isn't gonna work. That thing is a POS and will choke the motor like you don't even know, nevermind it distributes like ****.

Get that thing off and right in the trash, trust me it will save you alot of headaches. Carb style TB is the only way to go with what you are probably trying to do.

^ I can see that thing having Cyl# 1 and 3 distribution issues but like JL said, he has seen the issues personally and knows what he is talkin about.

Im planning to run a similar setup on my new motor, only i plan to run a 4150 series TB for the reasons listed above. Do you have any pics of the intake on the car yet? I have that exact NX DP kit that I will be installing so i'd like to see the clearance problems your having. maybe I can help you brainstorm on a solution.

I do not have any pics yet but I can tell you that the rear nitrous plumbing you see in the photos comes in contact with the metal cowl. I will hopefully get some pictures this weekend

I should have mine together within the next month. 408, super vic, and some gas. I'll be doing a 4150 TB though on mine. Keep us posted on your results

^ Same here. I will be running pretty much the same thing in my Formula.

I would like to see an installed picture of the intake manifold without an elbow or TB on there to see how high it actually sits though.

Greg Jr. hahaha yes we're having to rethink the plumbing. We are working to avoid loosing the passenger side windsheild wiper. Not that I will need it but this is a street car

If you mount the solenoids with some tabs.solenoid bracket, and softline it you'll get the clearnance you need, and make changing jets an assload easier.

I can tell you the motor and intake sit exactly halfway back beneath the cowl. If you were to drop a plumb bob it would center in the intake.

I will try and get some more pics for you Saturday
