I noticed you have your fuel cell in the back end of the car. Is this legal for racing? If so, that's what I'd like to do with mine along with the battery.

I'm bulding a bulkhead for the back of the car. It will separate the fuel cell from the rest of the car. I believe that makes it legal.

You are correct. I'm still trying to figure out how to do the bulkhead where I like it

I haven't trimmed the fenders yet. The car had 28" tires on it but with the 29.5" it's definitely going to need some clearancing.

The front wheels are MT Pro-5 ET Drags and Champion DBL on the back.
Jon, it looks wild. Are you sure when under full throttle will the rear get into the fenders. looks good man. Since it is only gotting to be a 10.5 car are you getting your motor from jeff. only kidding man. Car really looks good...

Dusting off the old screen name for this thread!

Robert: Nah I'm not getting the motor from Jeff. I actually want this thing to be fast! haha....

I haven't decided what gears I'm gonna run just yet. I put a set of 4.56 hears in it when I bought the rearend but now that plans have changed, I will have to pull them out.

The tubbs are Wolfe.

Here's some new pics. Hood is now painted and the new AFCO rear DBL Adjustables are on. Paint isn't perfect to the car but I'm sure the car will be repainted at some point!

Thanks!
Jon

Car's coming along really good John. I do like the swaybar placment, I thought about pulling my wolfe off and moving it up there, or redoing one, with the shocks getting relocated to the back of the housing, and wheelie bars, and keeping the phb, there's gonna be alot going on back there.

Hood came out great, and that 4.56 gear, the racing you want to do is 1/8th mile right? Id' look into putting a set of 29.5x10.5S tires on it before changing the gear... unless you're limited on the tire size and can't go that route because of rules, the bigger tire will surly help you, especially if your local track prep isn't all that great, which I recall you saying something along those lines.

Thanks guys!

JL: yeah it will be mainly setup for 1/8th mile and does have a 29.5" tire on it. I was just concerned that it would have too much gear. That and I probably wouldn't get it to hook at any track around here.

Huh, your track prep must be really bad if that's the case. I thought that our local track wasn't that great, but I hear about some of the places you guys have to race, and it makes me think maybe we don't have it so bad.

Gear is one good way to really kill a car out of the hole if you have to. Go from a 4.56 to a 3.73 and it's going to really help keep things under control, and will certainly give you alot longer legs should you ever get to a 1/4 miles track and want to see what it will run out the back.

i guess you are planing a belt driven fuel pump? why didnt you go with the E
F2R, be careful with the F2s and gear drive they will chew up the blowers if you are racing alot. why the screen name change?

I read into the gear drives, it seems like the bushings in the gear drive itself don't last long... not sure though.
