Ugh, bought a 9" w/ 4.56s and a trutrac last fall. Didn't plan on the car being at the strip so much ;\ Oh well spools are reasonably cheap aren't they?

When I measured them, I had 20 lbs of air ni them as well, air them down and they look smaller, but expand more (example, during the burnout the back of the car actually rises a little)

You're right at the point that a 4.56 will be perfect, as I don't think you'll see more then 132 mph unless you're making 480 to 500 rwhp and have a potato chip race weight.

ya, that I see that.
I know alex was just tripping his shiftlite at 7K I belive with his carteck 4x setup going low 130s with these tires, and 4:56s. I'm making 415whp right now on stock heads and going 125s. I dont think I'll make that much power with the heads, there stock valves still but shooting for 128.. maybe a 130 on some good DA and I put some 4x9 magnaflows off the headers. Over my stock 2OTL. Some little things to cut some weight, 100-130#. The spool, and thouse muffler should be 70-75 right there.
Its just the added cost of gears, more install parts, and I'd step up in carrier size.

good lord the wave track is expensive. makes sense that its stronger though with the way they work

I'll post some pics up later tonight when I get home, I just took the true trac out of the z28, and took it apart. And it dosn't look that bad? There some slight gauling on some of the contact ends, But nothing chewing up really like I was exspecting.
I took the LCA and panhardrod off, and checked the rod ends, and the TA and everything was fine too. So as of right now, I think is it the truetrac just being hit or miss how it locks up.

That honestly doesn't look that bad.

that truetrac is fine, I think its just hit or miss if it was working thou.

I ran the same style diff in my GTP (quaife), and it started eating its self up. But it was the only good diff to do burnouts and heat slicks easily. So I would de durr it, and ran it for the end of a season lol. and change the filter often, it was getting a work out...

Does Strange make a rear cover gasket for the S60 that I can get? Or do you guys just make your own? I've got one that the diff cover is starting to "slobber", not really leak, but you can tell there is an oily residue starting to form..

its fine on the street. Just drives a little diffrent under 20mph, but I'm fine got used to it fast. Car gose stairt now, it feels slow even. But is faster, a 1.598 and a 1.598 and 4.65x 330's on my stock wheels/DRs. Ran some 11.2-11.3 @122.5 off the street. Not sure if it was pulling a tire on launch its not dramadic anymore. But was on street wheels on low 1.6's
But also got some rear shocks form BigKap. thanks man The desctch tech/summit ones set at 50/50 witch is the "F"

I got a s60 gasket but dont use it. sounds like you have a dent on the edge of your cover. File it down so it flat and just use RTV, the alum covers are really nice and shouldn't leak. The RTV strange uses is some ****, it ******* glues the cover on and you have to hammer/chisle it off. You should have a vent on the pass tube a little bit down from the center case, maybe cheak that out. Its it get clogged when the rearend heats up it might weep fuild too, Would think it would just vent out a axle seal but might not always? sounds like some nice mods flyinZ

Looks like the spool really helped with the slicks and some cool air:

I'm going to be curious how much faster the rear tires wear down with any amount of street miles put on it.

I have a question as an owner of an S60 with 3.73s and a TruTrac, all of the folks here that broke them drag racing, are all of you running slicks? I plan on running drag radials with my setup which is a daily driver with the test n tune racing on Friday nights and I'm wondering if I'll be ok with mine. I believe Strange's site said they're only good to about 600 rwhp, is tha correct?
