If you want a trans brake, you need an RMVB. I kind of like my FMVB though

I had a RMVB TH350 and a RMVB th400 with a trans brake in both. Really liked them both but I never had a forward pattern.

Depending on how fast you are. It is much easier to pull 2nd on accident, then push.
Also, if you every want an auto shifter, it's easier to push. The 1-2 shift gets pretty quick as you go faster.
More guys seem to like push when you try to sell a trans.
My last few have all been push & I like going from 2nd to neutral directly.

Does yours only have two gears? If not how do you go directly from 2nd to neutral?

Betting he has a glide in the car... I've got a rmvb 400 in the car and love it... It feels more natural to me than the fmvb

I have a rmvb in my car, th400 with a brake.

I'd actually like a fmvb with the brake though, as I feel the same way dragster does, I would like to be able to go from high gear to neutral directly.

When I put a glide in the car I am going to a forward manual valve body, but I think with a TH350/400 you have to have a reverse body with a transbrake, maybe that has changed, but I don't think so.

Sorry, I should have said I love going from high to neutral directly.
Yes, all 3 of my cars use a glide or Lenco, depending on what I'm doing that season.

I should mention, I ran the pull style for years, and I fought changing. My buddies said shut up & do it.
After realizing how many times I accidentally pulled second, and realized how many times I was a little slow on the 1-2.
I got the push style and an electric shifter. I've loved it ever since.
I know guys bitch all the time that's not racing, your using a crutch ect ect.
All I can say is, I don't care, when you have a car that has 1.00's 60' and you've actually tried shifting that quick.
Then maybe I'll listen. I'm here to go rounds, the 1-2 shift is critical to being consistent.

X2 on that. I am planning on putting BS3 in my car, and once a glide goes in the car i'm going to have the computer control teh 1-2 shift for me. That along with the traction control, should make going rounds relativly easy.

Exactly, if I went racing to screw around and just test & tune. I would get an 11 second 4 speed car.
I'm racing against guys with delay boxes, data recorders, timers, weather stations ect ect.
These guys run their number and cut .500's. I can't afford to screw around.

Good luck.

If you are going to shift for yourself, I have always found a RMVB to be a little faster. If you want auto shift look into adding an E-Shift valve body.
